I looked a little farther afield than Memory Alpha, in more ways than one. To put it succinctly, Roddenberry was a mason and 13 is a number of prime importance among them and those whose main concern in life seems to be the study of the Illuminati. I don't know what more that might reveal to you Daddio10, in your search, but take it as you will.
