Redoing the titles in the main credits

Did anyone wish DS9 didn't have the ranks of the characters in its main titles? Did we need to be told that Sisko is a Commander/Captain, Worf and Jadzia are Lieutenant-Commanders and that Kira is a major/colonel?

Voyager seemed to only credit Janeway by her rank and at least included her first name.

It would be great if/when they remaster DS9, they changed the text to include the full names of the characters, sans rank.

I never really noticed the ranks included, but I thought that the way the actors were credited eg "Avery Brooks as Captain Sisko", "Terry Farrell as Dax" etc was a little old fashioned.

Didn't Voyager's credits change from including ranks to not including them at some point?

I'm fine with the credits as they are. I suppose if I were to make any changes, I'd remove the roles from the credits all together.

If CBS were to redo the titles, I think they should start just after the camera comes out of the comet dust and leave the "Based upon", "Created by" to the end and have the DS9 title appear just after the wormhole closes.

I wonder if the intro could have been updated to show the station interior. OPS, Bajoran Temple, Quarks, etc. Show how busy the Promenade was. Then pull out to show the station and ships docking at it. Then the wormhole opening.

Nope. Encounter at Farpoint never had them, that's why it still doesn't on Blu-ray.

Not me. Never had any quibble with them. No need to change.
