^In the graphic shown in "Waiting for God," the 2 factions are wearing red hats & yellow hats. I assumed this was some sort of reference to the idea I once heard that human beings couldn't process the color blue until sometime around the 17th century. So up until that point, everyone saw blue as a sort of faded yellow.
I tracked down that Bodysnatcher lost episode finally, I can PM you the details if you wish.
Is that the unfilmed Series I episode where Rimmer was going to go nuts and start secretly stealing Lister's body parts?
Apparently Craig Charles has confirmed series 10 and 11 are going ahead, and probably filming in January.

Never thought I would say this about a show but I hope they put a laughter track in this time.
I don't, I hope they film in front of an audience like they used to.
Agreed! Series VII felt very off when they didn't use a studio audience. This cast is full of the most talented comedy performers ever assembled, and like all great performers, they feed off of the energy of an audience. Those audience reactions even bolstered some of the weaker gags in Series VIII. But in Series VII, their timing is off quite a bit, particularly in those scenes where Kryten can't stop whining about how he's afraid that Lister likes Kochanski better than him. "Back to Earth" felt even more off. I'm generally not a huge fan of laugh tracks either, but there's something about the speed of
Red Dwarf humor that just demands it for some reason. Without a laugh track, "Back to Earth" just doesn't feel like official
Red Dwarf to me. It feels more like some sort of bizarre fanfilm. So while I prefer a live studio audience over a laugh track recorded over the finished episode, I prefer a laugh track over nothing.
While I think "Back to Earth" did prove that the cast can jump back into playing these roles without missing a beat, I think it also proved that Doug Naylor is pretty much spent as a comedy writer. I'd rather see a bunch of new writers brought on board with Naylor as the script editor.
I'm not holding my breath for Series X & XI. If I held my breath for every announcement of "imminent" new
Red Dwarf, I would have asphyxiated a decade ago. (Remember how close the movie got. The cast was in rehearsals and there were even online photos of Robert Llwelyn getting a face cast for a new Kryten mask.) Still, I'll definately watch them if/when they come out. (Although, if they're as crappy as "Back to Earth," I won't pay for them.)
I hope that Holly comes back. It felt really awkward not having him/her around for at least a few lines in "Back to Earth." And while Kochanski's not my favorite character, I hope they do something with her rather than totally dumping her. The evolving nature of the show and the cast was part of how Series VI-VIII kept from getting stale.
