Sociologically she is half Borg.
Physically on Voyager, the Doctor said that their was tech in side her that it was unwise to remove.
Mathematically both her parents are half Bog, so she is Fully Borg.

Pretty much sums up my feelings. There is a great moment that I recall where B'Elanna gives Seven a pep talk about adapting to life on VOY.

Realistically you would think Seven would be so messed up from her Borg experience she would need to stay in a mental hospital. I mean no real thoughts of her own since a child except for that episode were she was disconnected for a short while. There would be nothing to even base a personality around after so long being in the collective except fragmented memories of other people within the collective and maybe some distant impressions as a child. She would be more like Nell in that Jodie Foster movie than someone who can talk and act like a regular humanoid. It would take years I would think to even get her to a normal childhood level.

Heck, Trek almost always gets the hetero ones handled terribly too. Where they try to do a soap opera relationship with the domestics. The O'Briens, who weren't used in this capacity often, is where it's done right but it's still largely bland. At which point they throw in something loopy and all of a sudden it works. "Time's Orphan" is one of the better examples of this...
And, of course, "Rejoined" - doing a better-than-average take on the "so we can't have a relationship by the end" trope, but layering it to give it some interest by also fleshing out Trill societal mores*, and then lumping a same sex character on top of that... imagine if they had Dax's former love/lust interest being a bloke and not the wonderfulness of Suzanna Thompson, who's played even more dissimilar-but-convincingly-acted roles in the franchise than even Mark Lenard. It'd be a bit more boring, wouldn't it?)
* which now that I think about it fits in from Dax's season 1 quote from "A Man Alone" where Dax states Trills try to rise above those urges...
Maybe so, but with the example of Hugh that can't be the case. I think the realistic alternative is she would be a miniature representation of the collective, and I see a lot of her character stemming from that interpretation. Also, where Hugh wakes up to the world as a new person, Seven tries to hold onto the collective as tightly as possible perhaps to reconcile her personal history pre-Collective.
It's certainly obvious that the Trek world needs more same-sex relationships onscreen, but in this instance I think it'd be a stretch to pair off Seven and B'Elanna. Any initial moves in that direction would just be playing off sexual tension/aggression between the two with the Borg/half-Klingon dynamic without ever really reaching a sense of intimacy or the complimenting their personalities in the long-term.
Instead of enabling the writers to develop an interesting and long-standing relationship like the one B'Elanna and Tom had, making her and Seven a couple would probably do little other than further over-sexualise Seven and fetishise lesbian relationships, since the writers would be ill-equipped to give their partnership substance or depth.

I actually seeing anything wrong with two people who just hook up because they have the hots for each other if they went that way. Star Trek has always been lax when showing casual sex. I mean they show 1 off episodes where a character falls in and out of love in a hour but never something were two people simply go to a bar and sort of like each other then go have sex and then go their separate ways. Of course to this the Torres/Paris romance would have not started since they were already building on that in earlier seasons. Actually I kind of wish they hadn't chicken out and let her and Kim have sex. Might be interested if that was when she found she was gay. She had sex and felt nothing for him. That would have bene one way to have her explore that on the show and I assume they would find her someone for romance though I guess like most of the others it would be 1 off romances also.

I absolutely agree, but I would hate it if they used the first f/f couple, and/ or the first same sex couple to suddenly start depicting casual sex or ons's.
Honestly I think they fit perfectly. I think it written correctly it would've been way more than Paris. Honestly I didn't like the pairing. It seemed forced. Ikr unpopular opinon..But the issues that B'elanna went through were wrapped up in Toms favor really although he does grow in the series he isn't strong enough for her both physically and mentally. He's this rich kid who hasn't really gone through anything ignores her for games didn't bite her cheek or really acknowledge her klingon side with anything but words. They only get serious after pon far and I hate that that happened. B'elanna and Seven go through so much. Before and during voyager with the exception of Tuvock and the Dr. I think the males on voyager had an easy time. Yet B'elanna just gives up everything for him. Why? What has he done to deserve it. A hyper brilliant engineer 3x his strength. Oh right it's just love but the same can't happen between 2 women it has to be a reason and analyzed until deemed perfect. Remember when Seven was dying. She ran to B'elanna not the Captain not the Dr not harry not chakotay. B'elanna is the one person on that whole ship who she knows will respect her and protect her freedom. I think they would have had a very deep love and helped each other grow and learn more about themselves belanna is very patient actually like when icheb "breaks up" with her.

You quoted my reply but didn't answer any questions I posed. So pardon I think you're a troll. Especially since in that post I didn't mention sex at all. You can be in a romantic relationship and not have sex but I'm sure you know that just as most ppl know you can indeed have a relationship without sex. It's called friends. I don't mind if you have a different opinion but don't be condescending.

On the weakest link star trek special Roxanne got very pissy about one of the other Star Trek actors flirting with her, saying something like "That is so disrespectful to my husband! How dare he!! I'm a married woman!"
Honestly, I don't know what Seven would need in a romantic relationship. To add to that she still doesn't look remotely ready for it at the end of her 7 year's run despite "them" trying to shoehorn in a Chakotay love interest.
