That wasn't Wesley in Picard Season 2, so why should he play him like Wesley?I just hope he remembers how to play Wesley this time.

I had money bet that Will's return to the Star Trek franchise would be as a villain on Lower Decks.

To be fair I recall he denied being in Season 2 so...
He said that before he was approached. He even brought it up in the Ready Room episode for the Season finale.
It's pretty clear "Wesley" won't be in it...however, the Leader of the Travelers (formerly known as "Wesley Crusher"...)
Perhaps Wil Wheaton was not lying when he originally said that he was not in Picard season 2, It could have been a last minute thing. His scene did look a bit ‘roughly’ edited in like it was a spontaneous spur of the moment addition. They were probably down on expected running time and needed a filler, the other actors might not have been available for filming at such short notice? Regardless, it was a welcome addition to the episode and I guess that we see the Traveller and Kore again… somewhere… if not in season 3.
He wasn't lying, I already mentioned that above. The one time he denied being in Season 2 (at least on Ready Room), he hadn't been asked yet.
