Do folks expect him to say "Star Trek was shit this week and I've got Patrick Stewart on the show so I can ask why. So, Patrick, why was Star Trek shit this week?". I think above all else he is a mega-fan as well. I think he is just very enthusiastic about Star Trek.
Yeah, I mean -- it's his job to promote the new shows, not apologize for them. Anyway, I'm happy for Wil. I don't think his range as an actor was large, but he is an excellent Star Trek Hype Man.
(Singing): "...Always look on the bright side of Trek..." (Whistling) - "De do...De do, De do, De do..." "...Even if it gives you occasional drek..." (Whistling) - "De do...De do, De do, De do..."
He was also a fan of Star Trek before he got to play Wesley Crusher. So that helps, and he's retained his fandom ever since. Personally, I would make use of Wesley Crusher in various TV shows since he's a "Traveler" and can travel across Time, Space, & Dimensions.
