It appears to be buried under all the current news, but there is a 30 minute "Behind the Scenes" special called "Star Trek: Picard - The Final Mission" hosted by Wil Wheaton - if the tweet picture is accurate - airing Sunday February 19th on CBS. Source: https://twitter.com/Boatrek1/status/1623507662909341699 (The Tweet has been 'liked' by Terry Matalas). "Getting ready for the final season of "Star Trek: Picard" featuring the return of the Enterprise crew from "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Wil Wheaton hosts this deep dive with the cast and creative team as they boldly go one last time." TV Guide: https://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/star-trek-picard-the-final-mission/1031112055/ I found a "Unavailable" Paramount Plus YouTube page - but it says "Pay to watch". Has anyone heard of whether this will be available outside of the USA?
They showed clips from the Ready Room at the premiere before the episodes started No big news, but nice to see that these are done way in advance, apparently.
Wil has mentioned a few times on the RR that he’ll sometimes get episodes with unfinished FX. For example during season 2 he mentioned that he saw the Borg queen episodes before they made her eyes black.
Is Wil Wheaton doing after Treks this season? I am wondering if the role of Picard’s secret son was originally envisioned for Wesley? But because Wil came back in a cameo as Traveller Wesley last season (stamping his mark on the role) Wesley could not so easily be recast with a new actor, therefore they may have created a new soap opera inspired ‘secret son’ this season, playing out the character originally intended to be Wesley Crusher? Perhaps Wesley can meet his half brother one day? Assuming that they are half brothers of course, I could be wrong. They may not even be biologically related.
But, I read Wil Wheaton fan-fic: https://wilwheaton.net/2022/04/writing-fan-fiction-is-never-not-fun/ This fan-fic was never completed and is in-verse with Picard continuity.
But what if the fans democratically decided that Wil Wheaton’s fan-fic was canon? Ok, I know the answer already… Star Trek is not a democracy.
It is a democracy. The masses vote* for a leader, and that leader makes decisions on our behalf. *We vote with our viewership. If we all stop watching, the leader loses their position of power.
Ok. Put it to a vote....call up all the Star Trek fans and ask them if they would like this fan fiction to be admitted as canon. And then we can petition CBS to admit it in to canon.
Region Free Ready Room. Or at the first least it works for me in Canada. https://startrek.com/videos/ready-room-star-trek-picard-patrick-stewart-gates-mcfadden
