Only if the face is an existing character.

I can't see how revealing who the actor is would be a spoiler if the character they're playing is a new character.

But not when they’re expecting a Niner.

Re-listened to the voice, and it doesn't sound like anyone we've heard before, even considering the distortion added.

With utmost respect toward Prodigy, there's still something next-level about seeing someone fully in the flesh again. I'd consider it huge enough.

I say this as a dyed-in-the-wool Niner who hopes it's someone from that show, especially Nana Visitor (who, like Mulgrew, has returned albeit in animated fashion).

I understand your point. But the context of the twitter post seemed to imply it was another case of someone that no one expected to see in Trek again. Someone like Mulgrew (or Visitor, or Shimmerman) are well-connected within fandom and were open about wanting to do more Trek work even before getting the voice roles.

It's supposed to be someone jaw dropping, so we will see.

My guess: Shatner. Either that or Avery Brooks.

I'd be happy with both. I know Bill Shatner doesn't have the best reputation in some circles of the community, but I can't not-love the idea of him returning as Kirk in some capacity

Yeah, I feel like something is up here. You don't casually drop one of the biggest shockers in ST history -- that Kirk isn't dead and is just behind the door -- and move on the way Riker did!

Yep, over on "the other site" (TrekMovie) people were getting all up in the butt about the museum ships, etc while were like "oh yeah kirks body"..and it's like...guys...BioBed sound? HELLO?

I don't think Riker moved on like a "oh..eh"...I think he saw the Genesis II device and moved on without even seeing JTK's pod....Raffi..however, she lingered and it seems she was very interested in staying but obviously time was a factor

I still don't think Kirk is alive. That was not the impression I got at all.

I guess for me the part that is getting the weird vibes is this

1: "Project Phoenix", what does a Phoenix do? it rises from death

2: The emphasis on the E-A being "Kirks Enterprise"

3: The musical cue after the Genesis Device was shown is the same one that was used for Spocks death in TWOK and when Sarek melds with Kirk in TSFS and the revelation that Spock is potentially alive...and the TOS BioBed sound..

I dunno, I respect that you don't see it, but I feel like there's some fire to this smoke.

Better be a big damn fire because this...this is...I don't even know what. I'll curb my initial reaction out of respect for those who see it.

I'm with @fireproof78 here. Including the curbed initial reaction out of respect, haha.

I maintain it’s a deep cut reference to this book

It also says he was "officially injured", not killed...

I doubt it’s Shatner because he always seems to want too much money to show up. IIRC thats one reason why Shatner did not play chef on ENT.
