Re-Watching Voyager

Never got into it when it was on, so didn't really give it a fair shake (and missed several episodes too). Re-watching the whole thing now on Netflix. Any suggestions (other than "Dont!")? Anything I should look out for or episodes I should pay special attention to?

My advice would be to put your expectations and prejudices behind and just watch and enjoy. Yes, there are some episodes that are mediocre, some that are ho-hum, but some of them are Trek at its best. Mostly, enjoy.

I've been contemplating a rewatch myself!

I concur. In many ways, Voyager was the spirit of Trek at it's best. Episodes that I especially enjoyed:
Dark Frontier (my absolute fave)
Faces
Bride of Chaotica
Scorpion
Barge of the Dead
Prey
Someone to Watch Over Me
Warlord

Real treats imo. :)

I'm a sucker for Equinox! I used to have a VHS where it had been edited together into a feature length movie, definitely one of my favourites!

Oh, I was thinking of the one where we have "Seven learns a lesson" tacked onto the end...

Yeah, the name of the episode escapes me but it's been a B'Lanna episode and then write at the end we have Seven walk into Janeway's ready-room so she can "learn a lesson about humanity"

Tonight, on a very special Star Trek Voyager...

Makes me want to get the box set(s) just to see that! How good IS Season 4?
I always did sort of resent Janeway telling 7 what to do when I first watched the early episodes of that season.

"You should stay with us Seven, not go back to the Borg...you won't have free will for anything for a while...the crew won't trust you...our Chief Engineer will make racist comments about you and fail to understand that you were abused as a child, continuing up until less than a year ago and this is why you act the way you do...you won't get quarters, you'll have to live in a featureless cargo bay and we'll make you wear clothes that an exhibitionist would think looked too revealing"

Lol! Great, something to look forward to. I wonder if the old man will want to play Neptune: King of the Sea with Seven when the cartoon is over (and if anyone gets that reference, I'm impressed).

I can't remember unforgettable =s (that's not a joke...what's it about?)

The one with academy award winner Virginia Madsen.

LOL. It's the one where... fuck it feels dumb even to say this... Chakotay meets a member of a race that you (and all your recording instruments, except paper!) forget about five minutes after they leave your sight or something, and falls in love with her, and it SUUUUUUCKS.
