Wow really Scott said that; I mean look at the length that Archer went to make sure Trip lived in the Sim eps; and then also reaction to Sim in Trips room. I mean Trip made a mistake but I can't believe that cause of that one thing one change their friendship. I mean you could see it when Trip would approach Archer on some of his descisions when he put his feelings first before what would happen to the crew. And to me think Trip was right to question it.
I don't think Scott meant their friendship was dead. I think he meant Archer was less friendly with Trip or distanced himself. Archer goes to a lot of lengths for the people under his command -- the Klingon arc for Reed, more times that I can count for T'Pol, etc.
I do think he has a friendship for Trip, but Similitude out of season 3 was the only show that reminded us they were friends once, imo.
Yea it was strange that you didn't see Archer and Trip hanging out I think only other time he came to dinner with Archer and Tpol was when Emory on board and again you could tell during that there was something going on cause he was actually going to put Trip on insubordination and its like Trip made good points and was ARcher putting family friend first instead of crew. I mean Trip went through change when sis died.
And you can't blame Sim for being in Trips room I mean he was so much like Trip only seemed reasonable. Never bought the final shot and Trips face though.
See I am someone who likes buddy buddy friendships; I found Bashir and Obrien friendship so great in DS9 and those two went through alot but still remained friends. So thats why found it strange how distant ARcher and Trip became and you would think if they distant those two then write more with Reed and Trip.
Like I said new to fandom so I will ask alot of questions and speculate hope alright and hope people fill in holes for me.
