Re-cast TOS with other 60s actors

This ensemble never would have happened, for many reasons, but it's fun to imagine:

Kirk: Robert Conrad
Spock: Donald Sutherland
McCoy: Buddy Ebsen
Scotty: Sean Connery
Uhura: Diahann Carroll
Sulu: Soon-Tek Oh
Chekov: Bob Denver

What does your list look like? :)

Kirk: Jack Lord
Spock: Martin Landau
McCoy: Eli Wallach
Scotty: Terry Thomas
Uhura: Gail Fisher
Sulu: Keye Luke
Chekov: Yul Brynner

Brilliant post and I would've liked to have seen first-choice Jack Lord as Kirk too but as that's gone...

Kirk - Robert Vaughan
Spock - Max Von Sydow
McCoy - Burgess Meredith
Scotty - Oliver Reed (Just imagine "Look the scene says Scotty gets drunk so...")
Uhura - Trina Parks (not quite 60s I know but I was struggling which in itself speaks volumes!)
Sulu - Bruce Lee
Chekov - Davy Jones (Ironic yeah?)

Hon. Mention for Honor Blackman as Nurse Chapel.

As long as we're dreaming, make it a big-budget theatrical film with the following:

Kirk - Steve McQueen
Spock - James Coburn
McCoy - James Stewart
Nurse Chapel - Grace Kelly
Scotty - I agree on Sean Connery

Klingon Captain Kang - Yul Brynner
Kang's lieutenant - Christopher Plummer
Mara - Raquel Welch

Excellent. James Coburn was actually my second choice for Spock.

Great casting, folks. Glad I started the thread.

Yes, Bob Denver would have been fun as Chekov.

Sadly so true. Taking that into consideration, we could open it up to other possibilities. After all, in 'The Doomsday Machine' they had Lt. Palmer who was Caucasian.

At the same time, we can go farther and suggest our own substitutions for more than just the main 7. We can do guest stars, etc. As an example, suggest another fine African-American actor for Dr Daystrom.

It would even be cool to change genders.

No limits here. :)

Yeah, I did consider a number of white actresses for Uhura because I couldn't think of many black ones but I felt that was being slightly disloyal to Nichelle Nicols' significance. I know, I know, this is just a Star Trek forum and no-one really gives a but even so. I also felt choosing Bruce Lee for Sulu was a cop out for similar reasons, although I did think about Michael Ansara who was a fantastic actor but that would've denied us Kang.

I've over-thought it, haven't I?:vulcan:

To each and EVERY one of you who posted submissions before me, I tip my hat. I am in the midst of some true creative brilliance on this page. I do not have anywhere near the vision some of you have, however I'd like to suggest a few guest stars in key iconic roles.

Lee Marvin as Captain Tracy
Robert Ryan as Commodore Decker
Spencer Tracy as Samuel T. Cogley

Never underestimate the Denizens of the Internet to make accusations of "white-washing" a character, no matter how much you plead innocence.

It will happen sooner or later.

Just hide and watch. ;)
