Okay now that Andor's over and Tales of the Underworld is out, this seems like the good time to ask, what do you think of the various Star Wars series you've seen? Would you try to sway people into watching one of the less acclaimed series like Obi-Wan Kenobi or Acolyte?

Here's my own personal (non-exhaustive) list:

The Clone Wars - My list said skip a third of it, but what I saw really redeems the prequel era. Good.
Rebels
- Aimed at kids, with cheaper animation, but just as good as Clone Wars at its best. Good.
Resistance
- I saw one episode and it destroyed my love for Star Wars, animation and television. Bad.
The Mandalorian
- Having to pause and watch Clone Wars and Rebels just made me like it more. Great.
The Book of Boba Fett
- I get why people dislike this, but I've seen it twice and loved it both times. Great.
The Bad Batch
- It's Clone Wars 2, showing the transition from the Republic to the Empire. Good.
Visions
- Its best stories didn't grab me and the worst bored me, but I love all the animation styles. Okay.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
- The most flawed of the live action series I've seen. Disappointing, but watchable. Okay.
Tales
- Tales of the Jedi had its moments, Empire was worse, I haven't seen Underworld. Okay.
Andor
- The smartest, most meaningful and most beautiful of live action Wars, but it can be slow. Good.
Ahsoka
- Some of the storytelling choices were disappointing to me, but I'm glad this is continuing. Good.
The Acolyte
- Everyone says it's terrible so I skipped it.
Skeleton Crew - I watched one episode, it was... watchable. I wasn't all that motivated to continue though.

Based on these results it's pretty obvious that Star Wars is rubbish now and Disney ruined eveything :p

I put Acolyte in the OK category. It has some interesting ideas and flawed characters, and a good amount of world building.

But, I'm also of the opinion one should watch things and form their own opinion.

The Clone Wars has a lot of ups and downs, some good stories in there and some not so good. Struggled to have an identity in lots of places but when it committed to a more mature tone it could shine. - good.

Rebels was a course correction from clone wars that fixed its predecessor's mistakes - great.

Resistance was several steps backwards however - bad.

The Mandalorian, I didnt enjoy it at first, the first season was slow and meaningless and dull. But like many shows its second season was a massive turnaround and it kept on running once it found its feet - great.

The Book of Boba Fett had one of its best episodes without its titular character and the final three episodes were great but they became Mandalorian season 2.5 which presumably was not the point of the show - okay.

The Bad Batch continued this trend and was never enjoyable when its titular squad was on screen - bad.

Visions doesnt work for me, I largely dont enjoy irrelevant non canon anthologies in any franchise. I also really didnt care for most of the art styles - bad.

Tales however is a canonical anthology but with some wildly varying quality - okay.

Kenobi was something I was very hyped for but I have never found myself wanting to rewatch it. The makeup for the Grand Inquisitor was way off and I can't help but feel the show didnt add a lot and justify itself. However Ewan McGregor was a bright star in it as always - good (but only just).

Andor I have discussed my feelings in the contraversial thread, it should be something I really enjoy but it is not - bad.

Ahsoka probably holds the crown for my favourite star wars property it was everything I wanted - great.

Acolyte was an exciting breath of fresh air then the bastards at disney closed the window - great.

Skeleton Crew is just pretty pointless and overloading the main cast with children is not a way to keep my engagement - bad.

My order today, might shift tomorrow. :)

1. Andor
2. Clone Wars
3. Rebels
4. Mandalorian
5. Obi-Wan Kenobi
(Despite every episode having at least one utterly stupid moment, I did enjoy the series over all.)
6. Ahsoka
7. Bad Batch
(I still haven't watched most of season three though.)
8. Boba Fett
9. Tales
(Would probably rank higher but a handful of shorts just doesn't register in my brain as a TV series.)
10. Visions
11. Acolyte
(It wasn't always bad. But it was bad way too often for my liking.)
12. Droids
13. Ewoks
(I watched Droids and Ewoks as a kid because it was NEW STAR WARS! but even then I didn't really care much for them.)

I was tempted to leave Droids and Ewoks off the list so that The Acolyte could be dead last. ;)

Watched two episodes and then gave up, so not fair to rank:
Resistance (Yuck.)
Skeleton Crew (I didn't mind what I saw, I just found I didn't care and I didn't want to watch it "because I have to". If it had come out before Acolyte I would almost certainly have finished it. And I still may at some point.)

The good
1) Andor: hands down one of the best things in starwars.

2) the mandolorian seasons 1 and 2: excellent and really fun to watch. Good look at post endor galaxy.

3) clone wars post season 2. Some great themes and love it's development of clone troopers. Nice critical look at the jedi.

4) rebels: Fun , engaging characters and added a lot to the lore.

5) Bad batch: good look at the early empire and great characters.

6) The tales series: nice additions to the lore.

The okay

7) skeleton crew: I get why people liked it but it was a little to childish for me. Nothing wrong with it a personal taste really.

8) Asoka: it has the potential to be good but the first season was mediocre. Next series will make or break it.

9) Season 3 mandolorian : seemed to cave into to its own hype. Also it seemed to become a celebrity toy box for them to come in as guest stars and play with Grogu. Lowest point was the lizzo and Jack Black episode, lizzo can't act for shit and even Jack blacks performance was sub par. Also the series relied way to much on grogu looking cute like it's some big ad to sell ,merchandise. Very disappointed.

The bad
10) kenobi: it so could of been good. But dam the director screwed up. That was it's major problem the director. This series could of been near the top if it had made a few different decisions in how scenes played out.

11) The acolyte: the power of one the power of two the power of crappy..... OK I don't think it was the worst but there was some really cheesy and hammy bits that ruined it for me.

The truely shit

12) Book of boba: How was he a crime lord when he didn't commit any crimes. The whole banking drugs in his territory came off like some Tacky 90's say no to drugs campaign. OK he committed extortion......well without any other crime or cental authority on tattooine that is taxation and makes Boba fett a politican and statesman not a crime lord. And he his ship is Slave one! Say it!

13) resistance: couldnt get through the first episod.

Hey, look at that, I just did these lists a couple of months ago in The Acolyte thread:

Live action
1. Andor (10)
2. Skeleton Crew (9)
3. Ahsoka (9)
4. The Mandalorian (8.5)
5. Obi-Wan Kenobi (8)
6. The Acolyte (8)
7. The Book of Boba Fett (7)

Animated
1. Rebels (10)
2. The Bad Batch (9)
3. The Clone Wars (8)
4. Tales (8)
5. Visions (8)
6. Forces of Destiny (8)

Never watched Resistance and I probably never will.

Would you try to sway people into watching one of the less acclaimed series like Obi-Wan Kenobi or Acolyte?
Absolutely not. I wouldn't do that for Resistance either (even if I did watch it and hated it like everyone else). If someone is curious about a certain show, then I'll always encourage them to check out it, regardless of my own feelings about it.

Clone Wars was great.
Rebels was great.
Resistance was bad.
The Bad Batch was great.
The Mandalorian was great.
The Book of Boba Fett was bad.
Ahsoka was great.
The Acolyte was bad.
Skeleton Crew was great.
Andor was great.

Great:
1. Andor
2. Rebels
3. Mandalorian/Book of Boba Fett
4. The Bad Batch

Good:
5. Clone Wars
6. The Acolyte
7. Obi-Wan
8. Ahsoka
9. Tales

Okay:
10. Visions
11. Skeleton Crew
12. Forces of Destiny

Bad:
13. Resistance

Great:
Rebels (My #1 Period)
Mandalorian
Clone Wars ( Spotty but ended on a high note)

Good:
Bad Batch
Ahsoka ( could have been better)
Skeleton Crew
Visions

Okay:
Obi Wan ( it was okay, not great)
The Acolyte (not as bad as it could have been, but still not great)
Tales ( kit or miss.. mostly miss)

Watchable once:
Resistance ( just not good)
Andor ( I tried.. mostly not good)
Book of Boba ( Not good, took a great character and nerfed him into oblivion, and when your best episode doesn't have you in it.. its bad.. and they should feel bad)

Clone Wars was great.
Rebels was great.
Resistance was bad.
The Bad Batch was great.
The Mandalorian was great.
The Book of Boba Fett was bad.
Ahsoka was great.
The Acolyte was bad.
Skeleton Crew was great.
Andor was great.
What it's worth, I realize that I forgot to list Obi-Wan Kenobi, and that one was just "okay".

My personal order (I'm not separating seasons, so for example TCW had great seasons but the first season drags it down to just "Good", for example:

Great:

The Mandalorian

Good:
The Clone Wars
The Acolyte

Meh:
Rebels
Ahsoka
Book of Boba Fett
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Little Leia really drags this down a lot)
Tales

Bad:

The Bad Batch
Visions

Awful:
Andor

Didn't Watch:
Resistance
Skeleton crew

Most of these I've only seen once, except for the first seasons of Rebels and Andor, so I'm just going with my gut instinct here. I plan on rewatching some of them at some point so this might eventually change.

Great
  • Andor
  • Clone Wars
  • Rebels
  • The Mandalorian
  • The Bad Batch
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Ahsoka

Good
  • Tales
  • Resistance
  • Skeleton Crew
  • The Book of Boba Fett
  • The Acolyte
I've only seen a handful of Visions episodes and they were all over the place, so I don't really feel comfortable rating it. I saw some of Forces of Destiny, but I don't really remember it very well.
