I'm teetering between a 4 and a 5... but I'm not feeling especially generous today, so I'll go with the 4.

Very disappointing film -- and I say this as someone who mostly enjoyed (to varying degrees) the previous TNG movies. I grew up on TNG -- it was my favourite Trek series. The characters deserved a better send-off than this middling affair (to put it politely).

There's very little I can say about it that hasn't already been said, but I'll reiterate what I recently wrote in another thread about my experience viewing the film on its opening night. When it was over, the audience actually applauded! :cardie: I mean, I'm glad they somehow managed to enjoy it, and I realize there's different strokes for different folks and all that, but it still made me wonder: were we watching the same movie?

Is it complete and utter garbage? One of the worst movies ever? No, of course not. But it's definitely not a good film either. Do I prefer TFF over this? Hard to say. TFF was more fun, and it seemed like the filmmakers actually had reasonably noble intentions (unlike with Nemesis), but it's often too silly for its own good... plus the blatant errors and unimpressive special effects really hurt the film. In the end, I don't know. I'll have to think about it. But I will say that both of these entries definitely rank near the bottom for me on the grand scale of Trek movies.

Probably a 6
An enjoyable enough 100 minutes I suppose, but as a send-off to the TNG crew, and an even numbered Trek movie, it's not so hot.

There are some great moments, but plenty of shite ones too. Like the "Self Destruct is offline" thing. Jesus
And the no transporters part is so annoying, "USE A SHUTTLECRAFT'S INTERNAL TRANSPORTER YOU FUCKING RETARDS!!!"

For the record I'd say I enjoy it more than Final Frontier. And Insurrection and The Slow Motion Picture

I gave it a 6/10 Was it the worst trek movie? not really! was it the best trek movie? not by a long shot!

I give it a 3. Giving it a 1 is just too harsh, it might not be a great movie and the script/plot/villain might be pretty lame, but it's somewhat enjoyable if you turn your brain off and ignore the low points of the experience. However, as the finale of the TNG era it's a pretty big letdown. In relation, I'd give TFF a 2, they're both stupid movies but at least NEM can be mildly entertaining, while TFF is a Star Trek-based sleeping aid.

1. I don't "hate" it and it isn't the worst movie I've seen but it's certainly in the lower depths. Justtoyourleft mentioned most of the problems I have with it. There may have been a somewhat worthwhile story struggling to emerge but it was buried under so much sheer stupidity it's difficult to be sure.

To each their own, of course, but IMO Nemesis was terrible and a truly crappy way for TNG to bow out.

Wow. I wonder of these people voting it as bad, liked Star Trek V.
Nope. I can't stand it, either.

My brother said today he has never seen this film all in one go so we sat down and watch it today.
God i had forgotten how bad it was i gave it a 5 yesterday but i should have gave it a 3.
There was only Data and Picard who got anything to do in this film.

What, exactly, was mildly entertaining?

I'm serious. I can't think of anything. Well, the space battle was pretty ok, but that's about all I can remember at this point. I'm a huge star trek fan, I actually like 'Generations' a lot, and I only watched this film one time.

That's really all you need to know.

I'll give it 5/10. Which is a failing grade. I wouldn't grade it less than that, though. Lower marks are reserved for especially stupid or offensive movies.

I gave it a 4. It's a bad movie, and the worst of the Trek movies, but as far as its place on the continuum of films, it's nowhere near bad enough to get a 1. That's reserved for masterpieces like Battlefield Earth and Power Rangers movies. :p

OH GAWD! Battlefield Earth! OH the HORROR! THE HORROR!!! I'm suprised that didn't kill travolta's career PERMINATLY!:wtf:

A five. Weak film, but at least the space combat scenes were pretty to look at. Star Trek V is much, much worse.

I thought Nemesis was great. The battle between the 1701E and the Scimitar was great as was Picard last ditch all or nothing gambit to ram the scimitar.

I'd like to rank the other movies as well.

TMP 6
TWoK 10
TSFS 7
TFF 5
TUC 9
GEN 6
FC 10
INS 6
NEM 9

Not particularly. Nemesis managed to be a little worse.

I gave it a 2, which I think is being somewhat generous. The movie had all the entertainment value of a root canal.

The plot was full of holes. Not just the anal retentive, Trekkie stuff either. Even the average joe could wonder why the human hating aliens would install a human as their ruler. Or how the lowly slaves got a ship that could out-perform the ships of the line from major galactic empires.

The actors were all obviously very tired of their roles, and it showed in their performances.

I could go on, but to summarize, the movie was FAIL by every possible standard.

I gave it a 7. I thought it was a pretty entertaining movie overall, and I only had a few minor gripes. It got a little slow around the middle and during the big battle scene, I didn't feel like the Enterprise really was getting the crap beaten out of it when they showed the bridge. Insurrection sold the battle with lights being out and fires and things of that sort. All we got for Nemesis was sparks. Like I said, fairly minor gripes for an overall entertaining movie.
