Doubtful. The continuation of the series was not guaranteed even for the season filming now, let alone other seasons. There was much talk of it months ago.

Because the Weinstein accusations have opened the floodgates. This allegation didn't come in a vacuum. There is a watershed at the moment against toxic behaviour by powerful men, I doubt we've seen even the thin end of the wedge yet.

The decision was made a few months ago.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't for Netflix. If they claimed that they cancelled House of Cards because of allegations they would look better, BUT if it came out later that the were going to cancel the show anyway, then they would come off even worse. So it's better for them to just come clean and say the show was being cancelled anyway than take credit for making a decisions based on allegations and then get blasted for it anyway.

Damn. This is a really disturbing story. Poor dude was 14! Stoked to be on Broadway for the first time and then has a man who couldve been a role model exploit him.
I've always been a big Spacey fan but drunkeness is not an excuse for exploitative behavior of a minor. Also a really tone deaf and strange way to publically acknowledge his bisexuality.
Sorry that Mr. Rapp had this experience but glad that he was able to continue his career with many memorable roles.
His character in School Ties is a jerk but he's pure gold in daZED & cONFUSED.
