FC - The ONLY TNG movie in my opinion. It had scope. It had emotion. It redefined TNG for the big screen. The biggest problem with TNG is that the characters were designed for television. They were fine for intimate character pieces. They weren't audacious enough for the big screen. FC changed that... to a certain respect. They picked the most theatrical of the characters Picard, Data and Worf and sort of shoved the other characters into small supporting slots. Our big three were then thrown into a rollicking, non-TNG style, fast moving, action story that blew the audience's balls clean off. I LOVE this movie. Not because it's good TNG. It's not. But because it was a good movie.
NEM - I've always felt sorry for this flick. It was a misfire from start to finish but then again all the non-FC TNG movies were misfires. At least this one had ambition. The problem with it is that nobody bothered to think the plot through. The villain though well played didn't have a plausible motivation for his actions so everything following was just plain... fucktarded. Still the action scenes were fine. Not stellar but watchable. I thought the scenes between Stewart and Spiner were well played and emotional. Of course the scenes where Spiner played B4 were pure season 1, Naked Now style nonsense. Nemesis was a bad movie for sure but it wasn't the worst TNG movie but any stretch of the imagination.
GEN: The only thing that worked about this movie was William Shatner as James T. Kirk. Everything else was plain shite. God bless 'em both McDowell and Stewart acted their balls off but the movie had no scope and no ambition to be anything more than a big episode clumsily pasted together. David Carson showed promise with the DS9 pilot Emmisary but it's clear that a movie was beyond his abilities. Of course it was also beyond Berman, Braga and Moore's abilities as well. It's simply astounding that Braga and Moore were able to write such a SLAM DUNK as FC after the travesty that was Generations.
INS: The Batman & Robin of the Trek franchise. Corny, campy and just pure crappy. There's nothing redeemable about this shitfest! I'd rather tonguefuck Cupcakes asshole, I'd rather eat Horta shit, I'd rather take it from behind by a pissed off Gorn before watching this piece of Ferengi fuck again! It boils my blood that something heartfelt and well directed like TFF gets called the worst of the Trek series when this steaming pile of crap gets a free pass. From the bad attempts at humor, to F. Murray's abominable performance, to Zimmerman's craptacular production design and Michael Piller's abysmal script that reads like it was written by a retarded five year old there's not one positive thing that can be said about this the absolute ASSHOLE of all Trek films!
Wait! Yes there is!
It ended. Thank fuckin' God!
