Wow you have FF in the number one spot!
It's my number 3.
An underrated masterpiece!
Yes it is. It only dropped down to second (overall) because of
ST:XI, and only did so after maintaining that spot for many years. The movie is near and dear to my heart for it's wonderful character moments, which vastly outpace any of it's other shortcomings, and feels like a real extension of the original series.
I thought it was pretty exciting, great pace, very camp in parts but it felt like TRIBUTE CAMP, the camp of love.
The Kirk, Spock, McCoy bonding was intense. In a good way. McCoy's line, "I liked him better when he was dead." has me

every time.
One of my fave Trek quotes comes from ST:V.
Rider: "I can't believe you'd kill me for a field of empty holes!"
J'onn: "It's all I have."
It has a GREAT opening sequence. I think the whole movie is one big bag of excellent candy. Eye candy, mind candy, laugh candy, heart candy.. and it's a mystery to me why so many think it terrible.
