Haven't seen Craig yet, so I didn't rate him. Connery will always be Bond to me; but I liked Dalton's take on the character. Brosnan did a good job in the role, and most importantly, knew when to bow out. I liked the earlier Moore Bond movies, but he stayed in the role too long. Lazenby had potential, but was never given the opportunity to develop it.
Haven't seen Craig yet, so I didn't rate him. Connery will always be Bond to me; but I liked Dalton's take on the character. 1 Sean Connery: Not just because he was the first but because
he WAS the best.
2 Daniel Craig: I had my doubts, but he was awesome. I can't
wait to see what he does next.
3 Pierce Brosnan: His run wasn't exactly the series high
point, but damn if he wasn't the embodiment of Bond.
4 Roger Moore: He may have been the Bond of my youth, but
others definitely "did it better".
5 Timothy Dalton: Not a bad Bond and he may have gotten
better had Remington Steele not ended.
6 George Lazenby: He wasn't bad, but he only did the one
movie, which wasn't that great.

I chose Sean Connery at #1, because he hands down generates the "most wattage" out of all the actors who portrayed the role of 007. Not only as 007, but you are willing to see him in many non-Bond roles such as The Untouchables, The Presidio, The Hunt for Red October, Rising Sun, Finding Forrester and The Rock. Physically imposing and charming in a very charismatic way. You believe it when he physically takes down his opponents on screen. He has been a model for all other 007 actors, even Roger Moore who started-off modeling Sean Connery's forceful, physical style in Live and Let Die and The Man with Golden Gun before finding his own voice in the role.
My #2 choice is Pierce Brosnan, because quite simply for the fact that regardless of the mediocre quality of most of his 007 films, I was willing to watch them due to his participation. Plus, like Connery, I enjoy watching this actor in other films such as The Thomas Crown Affair, Evelyn, and The Matador.
My #3 choice went to Daniel Craig for his believable physical intensity as James Bond. Same with George Lazenby, which is why I ranked him at #4.
#5 went to Roger Moore, because he has the right balance of humor and charm. It's just that as I grew up, I just couldn't buy the fact that Moore could take you down in a fight, regardless of the fact that Lee Marvin who once appeared in a film with Moore is quoted as saying that he would never fight with Moore again, because according to Marvin Moore was "built like granite" when they got into a fight with each other on a film set.
#6 is Timothy Daltion. Although he played a convincing MI6 agent and assassin (witness his 2 sniper scenes in both of his films.), it turned me off that his character just did not appear to be enjoying himself as Bond. He acted like a guy who considered his job something to take seriously, and he just did not appear to enjoy all the trappings that went along with the assignments (the women, the alcohol, the jetsetting lifestyle, etc.). I would rank him higher as 007, but his lack of wit and charm in the role places him at the bottom of my list.

True, but he sure did like those aweful tweed liesure jackets with the re enforced elbows. But that's ok, Dalton appearently belonged to the members only club. The Bond movies are definitely excellent reflections of the times in which they were produced.

That's not necessarily reflective of whether I like them or not; the only Bond I really don't like is Moore, and even his middle three films (Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only) were good.

I can't rank Dalton and Lazenby because I don't remember much of anything from those movies.
As far as Craig goes he has only made Casino Royale and I didn't like it at all. It might be a finely crafted movie but it just doesn't fit my taste of what a Bond movie should be like. As you can tell by my rankings above I like a Bond that borders on self-parody rather than the more serious types.

1. Brosnan - he was my Bond, the first I saw in theatres. He managed to take the best bits of various previous actors and create a really strong interpretation of the character, even if the films he was in were sometimes mediocre (the first two are some of my favourites).
2. Connery - He had the best run of great films.
3. Craig - May yet take the top spot if he keeps the quality up.
4. Dalton - In a way, his two movies were ahead of their time; the seriousness he brought to the role was admirable after the Moore era, and I think License to Kill would be much better-received today. He could have had a bit more fun in the part, though.
5. Lazenby - Only one film, and he's the weakest part of it, but it's still a great film, and he had potential.
6. Moore - I have a lot of respect for Sir Roger, but his run exemplified the campiest excesses of the franchise. He was simply not believable (or was not given the opportunity to be) as a deadly secret agent (quite frankly, he was too old from the start, and by the end of his run it was totally unbelievable).
