What on earth is up with DuckDuckGo Search? It used to be pretty good. It would find what I wanted. The non-javascript version was clear and plain. There were no ads.

Now it has introduced ads and AI.

The non-java version has ads and AI and you can't remove them. It still searches well but when you click on a search result, struggles to load them properly.

The java version allows me to remove the AI and ads (allegedly - the ad removal doesn't seem to work) but is messier and harder to read - and absolutely useless at searching. If I search for book title + author, I rather expect to get results about that book - not about a singer of the same name as the book title, other authors that share the author's surname and other books by that author but not the book I want

Any recommendations for other search engines?

Maybe it's the change in the weather/season, but the motivation to sit at the laptop and work on any long term outstanding projects has left me.
I just sit there, staring at the screen, hoping inspiration will strike and nothing happens.
I end up watching YouTube videos.

Go for a walk if you can, read a book, maybe pack the laptop in a bag and go sit in a park under a tree.. I distract myself when I can't do anything and then find I get new ideas and can do what I was supposed to do.

I'm watching an old B&W movie called 'The Sniper' and the scene is set in the San Franscico Mayor's office, and the mayor is seated at his desk, behind which is a big picture window of the streets of San Franscico, and for some reason, I've noticed how static the background is. The cars and people aren't moving. It's just a giant photograph. Normally I don't notice something like this, but for some reason, this time it really sticks out.

There's a tv programme in my country that helps people in poverty, the translation is "worries for mom". It's not just for moms in poverty, it's now also for young adults and the elderly.

One person triggered my fear for the future: being alone, with no social network and having to pay people to have some company. I hate being alone, I have no one to come to, only my cat and I miss the warmth of a family.

That's why I made a decision my 25 year old self would call me crazy for: I'm going to date again, and If I end up becoming a stepmother that's fine. People who don't have kids are fine too though. Life is crazy, I never thought I'd like to have children in my life, but here I am
