Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

That's like Jesus being described as a carpenter (which actually occurs only twice in the Gospels). Wood has always been a scarce building material in the Middle East. It's more likely that Jesus' trade was that of a stonemason.
Likely, though Galilee being closer to Tyre might have seen more woodwork as well as stone work. As likely as not, Jesus and His Earthly father were craftsmen, working with multiple materials to ensure enough work to actually survive in subsistence living of the period.

Justin Martyr held that Jesus worked ploughs and yokes, meaning likely multiple materials.

Imagine if we named nukes the way legendary weapons like Kusanagi or Excalibur are.
"The war goes poorly for our side. The Enemy grows in strength and advances by the day. It is time to free Second Sun from its silo and rain cleansing atomic fire upon the horde!"

Just cancelled Netflix. Had it for like 13 years.

But day to day living is getting too expensive and measures have to be taken. And I found that I rarely watch it anymore.

I'm at that same decision point now ..... I don't watch it nearly as much as I used to.

Why is that having visitors in the house creates so much...mess?

There's one other person in my house at the minute and yet the rubbish generated has tripled, there seems to be four times as much washing-up and the laundry has gone up to 250% of the usual amount.

Pet peeve of mine when my sister visits......

Why can't the royal family have some fucking privacy? No wonder they were hiding Kate but that photo she did made it much worse and of course people can't shut the fuck up and leave things alone.

Also humanity, yes shove them into the bad place, well some of them anyway.

The lead character looks like the most insufferable, arrogant prick in history. The textbook definition of a "punchable face".

I'm surprised he's NOT a lawyer.

And what the fuck kind of a name is "Jason Bull", anyway? :guffaw:

I wasn't watching much on Netflix either so I switched to Hulu. At least they have some older tv shows. I've been enjoying them more lately than most of the newer shows.
Then my brother got me a $200 gift card for Netflix and I couldn't exchange it so I'm stuck with Netflix again for awhile.

Bought a Philly cheesesteak from a local butcher/restaurant and I was not impressed by the makeup or the flavor. In this instance I would prefer one from a chain like Charleys.

I'm just going to hazard a guess that this did not actually occur in Philadelphia itself. ;)

I LOVE a good cheesesteak. I was in Philly a couple of summers ago, I ate a lot of cheesesteaks (which are the size of my arm :wtf: ). But I would never eat a cheesesteak anywhere other than the city. It's just not worth it.

Fun fact: The most popular topping on a cheesesteak in Philadelphia? Cheez Whiz. :techman:

The restaurants here like to put their own spin on things. You're not just getting a Philly cheesesteak, you're getting one that doesn't even look like a Philly cheesesteak and has ingredients that have never been inside a Philly cheesesteak. Or adding egg to poutine.

Last week I tried a Jersey Mike's sandwich for the first time. It was pretty good. I'd say it was at least five times better than Subway. About all I can say for Subway sandwiches is that they're edible.
