Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

To those who believe in reincarnation, we just turn around and come back in a different body. That seems horrible to me. I don't want to come back here.

Stephen King came up with a rather grim variation on the afterlife theme. You have two choices upon death: repeat the same mistakes endlessly, like a person riding the same merry go round over and over... or utterly cease to exist. Don't remember the story title offhand.
*~*~*
In their book "Undatable", these two women read off 311 things guys do that make them... well, undateable. If I remember right, these included owning a cat, owning a big dog, owning a small dog, owning a rodent, owning a reptile, and I don't remember if birds and fish tanks were mentioned, but wouldn't be surprised.

Why not just say "we don't like guys who own pets" and be done with it?

That baffles me. Having a pet makes a man much more attractive--it shows kindness, empathy and responsibility.
Yes. And pets just make life better. If I had to choose between an excessively nitpicky woman and having a dog to greet me excitedly at the door when I get home and a cat (or two) to curl in my lap and purr... easy choice.

They also have issues with guys who are losing their hair, unless they shave their whole head, which is not going to happen either. Certainly, Avery Brooks rocked the bald look on DS9, but most white guys... it just makes us look like chemo patients.

I'd love to be able to mock the book some more, but I'd need a copy of it, and no way I'm financing the people who wrote the awful thing.

Huh...never thought that.

Oh well.

Are those my only choices?

Not too long ago a group of people here gathered on the freeway to protest Israel-Hamas. What exactly is causing a traffic jam in a random state whose politicians can't do anything about the war supposed to accomplish other than pissing a lot of people off?

People who first enter my appartement are surprised I don't own a TV, but I'm like why should I? On TV there is nothing but crap, reruns and commercials. I prefer Disney + and Netflix thank you very much

I own one, but it's mainly for my Playstation.

Make them feel better.

The same reason people complain online about prices yet still buy products.

The people who post memes around politicians they disagree with on social media.

It's an interesting idea I find in a lot of people when they see something they feel that energy, that anger, and that they must do something. So, even if it accomplishes nothing that energy gets outside of themselves.

I own one for X-Box. I enjoy it fine

What do you watch them on? I watch all my streaming stuff on my TV through my PS4. I like to watch everything on the biggest screen I can, and that's my TV.
I feel old-fashioned. We still use our TV to watch all our streaming services and cable.
So do we.

There wasn't one a few months ago, when last I checked... but latest search says there is one. Will check it out. It will be nice to watch Trek on a big screen.

Want to share my Apple TV+ account with my parents since there's a lot of stuff on there they'd watch..... but their TV isn't new enough for the Apple app (it's not even an old TV!!!!) and they're the most tech stupid people I know. It took an hour to explain to them over the phone how to download the Disney+ app and it involved them Facetiming me their TV screen so I could see what they were seeing. I can't imagine how long it would take to find out if their TV is even in a good position for a Firestick (it's mounted on the wall and it's not coming off). They live on the other side of the state and always come here so I haven't been there in a years.

Chances are if the TV has Disney Plus it most likely will have the other app. You will have to find a way for them to open the screen where all the apps are in settings and the app you want should be in that area. That's how I did it on my Samsung

Sony has a list of TVs that the Apple TV app works on and their TV is not on the list.
