Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I pretty much ignored it on Wednesday. I saw something in my FB memories - as years ago I made a reference to a quote from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Any-ways with Taylor Swift being here in Australia. Never have I seen so much media attention for her.

I like Taylor but I'm over the saturated TV coverage.

Up to season 3 of the Flash.
Watching it but not really enjoying it. The dialog feels uneven at times and cringe at other times.

Never been a fan of hers. I know she's probably the biggest pop star in the world, but her music just doesn't do it for me.

OTOH, I adore Avril Lavigne. :adore:

I have no problem with Taylor Swift as such. It's her fans I can't stand.

Seriously. They're so damn sensitive, if you say anything even remotely critical of her they're all over you.

Didn't the same thing happen with Jkr at the hight of Harry Potter fame?

Yep sure did

Cult Of Personality.

Saw some of that on the news last night and I get people are excited but some if them sounded borderline hysterical. Also what's the deal with all the friendship bracelets?

I wonder if Taylor has heard this song, and if she thinks it's funny:

The bracelets in the form with all the beads came from the EDM/rave scene where they were called "kandi." In earlier years when Taylor was still playing medium-size venues and was able to have some close-up interaction with fans at her shows, they tended to give her bracelets they made, in addition to trading with each other. She made a reference to the practice in a lyric in her 2022 album "Midnights," and then bracelet trading blew up even bigger at the Eras Tour concerts.

Yeah that's what some of the fans said on the news when they were not screaming "Taylor!!!!!" at the top of their voices

Funny thing about me and Valentine's Day... I don't like the holiday, personally. Who would like a holiday that celebrates the very thing they had no chance of experiencing... and that blocked their path to what many people consider the most important part of life? Only good thing about it is the abundant candy.

However, strange as it may sound, I decorate for the holiday... including lots or red, pink, and white holiday lights. Because by February, the rainy winter days and early nightfall have left me feeling pretty dreary. But for whatever reason, turning my living room into a glow in the dark peppermint stick seems to push those feelings back.

Yes, I know. I'm weird. Do you think I've been going by "Oddish" since the 20th century just because I like the Pokémon?
