Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I'm bummed we got Poltergeist instead of Night Skies that sounded interesting.
I'm not, because both E.T. and Poltergeist are great movies. Besides, if you want to see "Aliens are total bastards to one family in particular" movies, there are plenty to choose from. Dark Skies being a relatively recent, good example as far as low(er) budget, people spend lots of time watching security camera footage horror genre goes. Or The Forgotten, which is excellent, or Signs, which despite having some of the dumbest plot contrivances ever (even for later-era M. Night Shyamalan, of which this signaled the start of the downturn) is still extremely suspenseful.

i think it's possible that i actually am a mushroom......
Do all your friends tell you you're a fungi?
Do you always wear a cap?
Are you popular on college campuses?
Do you give stereotypically Italian plumbers extra lives?
Are you connected with a universe wide network of space 'shrooms that allow instantaneous intergalactic travel?

If so, you might be a mushroom.

The madness that is happening in the Western world, as they wage never seen befor an Economica and Millitary war against Nuclear Nation.

No matter how hard i try, this is the only outcome i see for our future:

No one is trying to stop it, everyone is just talking about how to send more weapons to keep escalating the conflict.
Sheer madness...
Poor widdle Russia, just minding its own business when the big meanies in the West suddenly shifted the Ukrainian border hundreds of kilometers to the East, encircling those brave, innocent, soldiers doing nothing but protecting the motherland from gay people, women's basketball players, barely armed coast guard outposts that posed no threat to shipping, and the exaggerated threat of Ukrainian Nazis. Weep for Vlad and his stolen billions while he throws his soldiers lives away on an illegal war while his people have to suffer sanctions, which are unfortunately one of the few viable options at present (besides providing the Ukrainian forces with logistical, technological, training and financial support) because of Russia's nukes. Sheer Madness.

We're definitely walking a dangerous line... if we don't oppose Putin, it will embolden him and he'll start snapping up NATO members next (if he regards Ukraine as part of Russia, he undoubtedly feels the same about the Baltics). But if we frustrate him enough, parts of Ukraine could be an irradiated parking lot. He might hope that we won't get into a planet-incinerating war over a country that's not part of NATO.

It won't matter who started what and why. No matter how hard they will try to breath and survive, it's impossible against the West, when the West is using their entire Economical and Military power to strungle them. It's just a matter of time befor the point of no return is reached, and they will launch the only response they can in this situation.

And no one cares. Sheer madness...
Yes, I heard you when you said it the first time. Instead of posting like a broken record, why not give your ideas for how the decadent imperialist West should have responded to the generous outpouring of rocket propelled support the courageous Russian people gave to the lowly barbarian Ukrainians?

The madness began when they let a total psycho in charge of one of the two nations in the world capable of unleashing nuclear armageddon.

Last time the most powerful nations on Earth had crazy people in charge was Hitler and Stalin, and neither of the two had the apocalypse under their command.

Well Russia started this so the ball is entirely in THEIR court and they could end hostilities in a jiffy if they bloody wanted to

Cool story, 'Brow. It was cooler in the original Terminator 3.

Which says a lot.

But even if some peace agreement is reached, the war machine that is building up right now in Europe, is not going to stop, neither will the Economical one-sided war between West and Russia. Everything is already in motion on a level we have never seen befor in our history. They even blew up the pipelines, and now oil and gas facilities are exploding all over Russia. This has gone far far far beyond some Proxy war in Ukraine, this is an all out war on Russia.
And with Western massive influence over the world, they will nulifiy any trade deals Russia will try to make to survive with " Neutral " countries. Even China is walking on a thin line for their collusion with Russia in trade and war industry. Sanctions are flying all over the world now, aimed to isolate and destroy Russia.

Fuck Russia. Fuck Putin. Fuck the war criminals of the Russian military and political leadership, and the brutal yet completely incompetent Russian army.

Well, we'll find out, won't we? And I very much doubt it's the manifestation of the Chicken Little and Doomsday attitude some want to take.

Well, this is absolutely horrifying.

I read an article on the CTV News website about the original E.T. animatronic from the 1982 movie selling for US$2.56 million at auction recently. They included a picture of the animatronic, and, well... it doesn't look quite like the lovable little alien you remember from the movie!

Latex foam doesn’t last too long, they probably went through several “skins” for ET during filming because movement makes it break down faster. There are still some puppets from various Jim Henson projects in decent shape, but that’s with them being preserved and occasionally worked on. But they would pretty much fall apart if you tried to perform with one.

^i remember that well..... has it really been almost 40 years??......... damn
