Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

But I still remember that Kenmore fondly.

Was it like this one?

I know a guy that can fix them.

If an actual, grown adult comes up to me and makes the heart shape with their hands, I will punch them in the face.
If a stranger did this completely randomly, it would seriously creep me out.
My Kenmore sewing machine was great and I sewed a lot of clothes, etc, for my 3 kids. It finally pooped out about 20 yrs ago and I had to buy a new machine. Well, ok, about 4 new machines. But I still remember that Kenmore fondly.
I miss the days when they actually made stuff to last.

Today, for whatever reason, Amazon Canada presented me with an offer on their site that was only written in French... and I was actually able to read and understand it. Thank you, mandatory French classes! It's amazing how some things just stick with you.

(Now if only I was able to speak it, and understand it when people spoke it to me!)

I don't care what Hank Williams, Jr. did, or what skinny blond singer NBC hires, "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" will never - Ever - hold a candle to "ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?"

The ultimate accident would be four, unmodified Pintos backing into each other at a high rate of speed.

I drove a Pinto cross-country in 1979 with the primary hood latch broken. For the first hundred miles or so, I was afraid the hood was going to pop up.

You obviously never had to take a ride in a Chevrolet Vega or a Ford Pinto. ;)

We had a Ford Pinto back in the day. It was the only car dad bought new for us girls to drive. My little sister was showing off in a Shoppers' World parking lot: she slammed the car into Reverse and hit the gas and promptly backed HARD into a tall light pole. Luckily it didn't explode....but dad did.

All this talk about cars reminds me of the eternal question...which is the better car chase, Bullitt or The French Connection?

My dad explodes whenever he hears the word "Audi".

Bullitt of course.

But the French Connection is a close 2nd.

I gotta go with The French Connection, because they basically just charged right out into New York City traffic and shot the whole thing live. The reactions of the passersby were genuine - they had no idea what was going on. No permits of any kind. The director himself was filming from the back seat of the car!

And that chase involved a SUBWAY TRAIN.
