Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Yeah, I love spiders too.

Ferris actually doesn't get off Scot free at the end of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"... because he skipped school, his sister did as well, intending to catch him. She then had the "misunderstanding" with the principal, called the police, was subsequently arrested, and her mom had to abandon work to bail her out. And, Mrs. B. stated that she had intended to take the commission and buy Ferris a car. A commission that she didn't get.

The moral: Skip school, lose a car. :nyah:

Could a giant domesticate a tiger?

That is, if a human who had the same relative size to tigers as humans to house cats raised a tiger from birth, could they get it to behave like a house cat?

I'm not even sure people our size ever managed to domesticate cats. They just started hanging out with us because we stored food, which attracted their natural prey (mice and rats). Now, we just feed them directly (and provide warm laps and belly rubs).

No. The wild cat we domesticated wasn't an apex predator.

True, but if the human was big enough not to look like potential prey, the tiger never learned from the pack to depend on hunting, and the human provided all the food, how would the tiger behave?

Taking my car in tomorrow and I couldn't find the valet key that can't open the trunk. Then I remembered that was my last car, and of course the current car wouldn't have a trunk release handle lock because it's a hatchback!!!

It would depend on if there were giant rodents who were attracted by the giants' food stores, the kind of thing that would encourage tigers to hang around.

Remember that wolves, unlike most cats, are social animals, which made them easier to domesticate.

The A/C unit in my hotel room actually knows when I’m in the room. And it’s kinda freaking me out. :wtf:
You mean it's got a motion sensor, which has been around in various forms since the 1940s? Or does it track the location of your phone because you gave an app access to your location data?
