The movie is actually a pretty good Hitchcockian-type thriller from 1968, starring George Peppard, Inger Stevens (who I adored) and Orson Welles.

I seem to have developed a rather odd superpower: The ability to cause music festivals to appear.

I came to Chicago last week, and boom, here comes Lollapalooza. Now I'm home, and there's a festival here too!

So if you want a music festival in your town, give me a holler and I'll visit. One will spontaneously arise.

We are on the verge of buying a new house, assuming the builder can get supplies to actually BUILD the sucker. We've already begun the "loan approval" stage but there's still no word on when we can close and when they will start to build.

Have been scanning and emailing documents to hubby, who is at work. The house will be just over the top of our budget, but it's the perfect floorplan, with all the features we wanted, and still in our town--which we really don't want to leave.

But hell....we need to sell the POS house we live in now before we move into the new one. But when will the new get built? How much will it cost to fix up the crappy old house and how long will it take? What if there are more delays on getting the new house built? ARGH. I hate being in "hurry up and wait" mode. It freaks me out.

@auntiehill Have patience; it took my wife and I six weeks just to refinance our house this year (mid-March to end-of-April) to take advantage of the lower rates and seller's market.
Here's hoping that last part helps you get top dollar on your old house.

Went to the dermatologist today to get 2 suspected basal cell carcinomas whacked off. Now the waiting for the biopsy results begins. I guess I spent too much time out in the sun as a child.

I had that on my face above my right eye and biopsy came back clean but the doctor we saw actually took almost all of it out on the day and sewed back the skin while I was there, and now I have a Spockish eyebrow

while awesome, has also been my biggest downfall.

I’m wondering if my boss will take “none of my office clothes fit properly anymore” as a legit excuse to not come back in...

Our place seems to be letting most continue working from home and only coming in if they need to. Unfortunately, for some of us (Me included), being in the office is easier, at least from a work point of view.

Traffic's somewhat annoying and I'm sort of glad the kitchens not right there

In my case, it just means not having to take food with me to the office because I don't want to be tempted to go out to a fast food place. The food in my kitchen is (mostly) healthy.

yes, she does. she started in the science division (those people are actual officers, too) and later passed the line officers' exam)

I've seen somewhere that in Italy there is this island where they found a large number of long-lived people.... and they were talking about eating sugar in general.... chocolate too..... and about the fact that they couldn't understand how could they live so long (almost 114 years - a woman) ....and a guy was saying that sugar won't harm you as long as you don't eat more than 200 grams per day....
I also like chocolate but only if it comes in a glass of Sheridan's
