God I love those movies.

You know how you see something and you think it's totally cool and unique and then decide "hey I'll buy that cool thing" and then wait for it to be delivered. Well that was me today. I purchased this really neat book as a gift for myself and it really is neat and unique but it's also stupid.

It's a fantastic work of art, and a very nice book but holy hell it's execution is stupid, I know what they were trying for with this but I really don't like it. It's printed as black pages with silver for all the text and pictures, including photos. I thought the silver and black gimmick would run for the cover and maybe the intro but it carries through the whole book and frankly kind of ruins an otherwise perfect book. I hope they do a reprint in normal format.

Oh look it's a wonderful book but I just don't find it practical. I like books when there is a visual element to them but not quite like this. It is worth every penny and I don't regret the purchase just the way it has been presented is what I am not completely sold on. If they do a normal reprint of this I will buy that as well, and find that far more accessible if that makes sense. It's hardcover but the cover feels like very thin material over the hard cardboard cover. Very swish feel to it.
