Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Why is it that when you refuse someone's offer of a service (like repainting your house for example), they think you owe them an explanation?

Thank you Kimmie. I'm bit of a mess to be honest but yeah.

Missed your post earlier. My sympathies to you and your family. In the last 5 years, I lost my Dad & nephew and hubby lost his Mom. It is probably the most difficult thing you will ever go through, not only for the incredibly painful loss but also how it affects how you see your own place in the world, your identity.

Hang in there.

You're right. I'n riddled with guilt for not going over earlier and it's something I just have to live with now. Spent too much time dwelling on the wrong stuff and I'm kind of ashamed. I think about our little family when I was growing up, Mum, Dad and us two kids. My Mum is frail, my brother didn't have any children and nor do I, it feels like an end. So lucky to have my hubby.

Still I've got to snap out of it.

I'm sorry for your losses auntiehill.

Some beverages don't quench your thirst plus they are filled with sugar and synthetic stuff that is really bad for you. It's a wonder people buy them at all. But they do.

When most people hear something is unhealthy, they picture it like throwing a drop into the ocean. So they're willing to make the sacrifice for something that tastes better.

I'm trying to write a letter explaining why it's really important to move to a new area. I've been on a waiting list for a while and circumstances have changed/improved. Which means there's a higher chance of success. Moving closer to family is the easiest reason to explain. Although, I've still got to unravel the smorgasbord of reasons about the antisocial behaviour and the effects on my long term health.

It's like... How do you simplify a complex issue, with a lot of crazy making thrown in for good measure, without coming off crazy or rambling yourself? I feel that if I miss out one important detail then my request will fall flat on its face.

Some people are so bad at breaking up that they make the other person want to leave them and therefore they're the ones being dumped.

So I was following this dip down the road (4 lanes, with a center lane for left turns) and his left turn blinker goes on. Hallelujah I think, he's finally going to leave and let those behind him drive at the normal speed limit. But NOOOOO, he just slowly drifts into the turn lane and straddles the line for awhile, like he really hates to leave this lane, but he plans to turn left some day, and is sloooowly moving towards the turn lane...it drives me insane! If you're going to turn left just get in the turn lane quickly and don't keep others from getting past you!

It sounds like someone who hates driving and/or doesn't trust their reflexes at normal speed. That kind of person is a danger not only to themselves but to others.

I was behind someone like that yesterday.

Aaaaaargh!

If I were a multibillionaire, like Robert F. Smith, I wouldn't pay off a graduating class' student loans. I'd pay the transport cost for women that needed to leave their state for an abortion. Way better investment imho

I have zero issues with what he's doing. People of color have issues that need to be dealt with, as well.

Now, I wish another billionaire would come forward and do what you're proposing! And for those states that would attempt to prosecute and incarcerate women for leaving their states to have an abortion, pay for their relocation costs, as well. Their entire families, as long as those families aren't the scum that believe what the state is doing is right!

Oh, I never said I have an issue with what he's doing. It's pretty outstanding, actually. I just meant if I had those means, I'd opt to not, & instead do the other, as I imagine doing both might be a little too much even for a billionaire

It would be a far leap ahead to try to prosecute someone for leaving the state & returning sans fetus, especially as the state need not even be informed, if the person went confidentially to a clinic & got referred to the charitable program. Technically, to share that information would be violating patient's rights (Hippa)

over here, we have solved that problem pretty well imo: you can have an abortion until the 3rd month, but you are required to get a neutral counceling first that tells you about all the options you have. If you still want an abortion, your insurance pays part of the costs and you still have to pay 400-700 $. (Unless you are very poor, in which case the insurance covers all costs).
If you decide to give birth but not keep the baby, you can give birth (either under your name or anonymousely) in a hospital and leave the baby there for adoption, or you can give birth at home and then bring the baby to a "baby flap" - that's a compartment, like a big letterbox, in the wall of the hospital. The instant the flap is opened, it triggers an alarm, so that the staff can get the baby immediately.

Unfortunately, there are those who are too lazy or too stupid to use birth control and instead have one abortion after the other. I think that sort of people should have to pay triple for the abortion.
