Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

There are two - repeat, TWO - rabbit nests in my front yard.

Apparently, my property has become the rabbit equivalent of Boogie Nights. Not sure how I'm supposed to feel about that!
Take care not to evoke the curse of the were rabbit :D (cool movie, though)
Thanks for explaining the hedgehoppers, @Scribble. I've been away for the weekend (Mothers Day). It's indeed forbiddden here. Minimum flight height for anything winged and artificial is 300 m / 900 ft and going through the sonic barrier over inhabited area is illegal.
A few years ago some idiot thought it funny to fly 20 yds over the river at aprox. 1/2 sound speed while we were sampling (the suction is frightening - a plane flying that low and at such speed pulls up the water from 20 yds around abnd about 10 yds high. That moron could have killed us. We recorded his plane's number and reported him, including the statements of several witnesses. A few days later we got a visit from no less than a Colonel who assured my colleague and me that the pilot would stay grounded and on hangar cleaning duty for the following 3 months  (plus a civil law court gave him a hefty fine, at our suggestion payable to the local children's hospital, for attempting to cause extreme bodily harm.)

Random thought today is actually rather creepy: There has been a triple murder/suicide in a small hotel right next to the river. And my sampling site for Wednesday is there (we had, in fact, intended to have lunch there).
No details are known yet but it seems a man and two women booked one room for 4 nights and were found the next day apparently killed by crossbow bolts. 2 crossbows were found there as well.
And the creepiest of all: the hotel isn't closed but they go on as if nothing had happened. The restaurant is open as well. (They are propably making the business of their lives with all the reporters and other lurid rabble.)
I'll postpone my sampling to June and I don't think I'll want to have lunch there ever again. Not if they have such little human decency to close at least till the funeral.

I used to have moles in my garden. I took care of them... I am not sure I should share the details though...

Let me know if you want to know them.

Me. I want to do something but I’m scared of cocking it up so I’ll just pace up and down the room until I give up. Man I’m week.

My wife got me an electronic chess set for Christmas last December and I have to say it kicks my ass regularly. I'm not a bad player and my record on a middling difficulty level is about 25% wins 75% losses.

Looking forward to seeing Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman record their Hollywood Babble On podcast tomorrow night. I wasn't sure about bringing my Mallrats dvd (if the opportunity for autographs presented itself) but it looks like it's perfectly cool. So... I'm both excited and nervous.

Wavy, knife-edge jigsaw blades make short work of cutting down cardboard boxes with clean, non-frayed cuts once you get the hang of it. Hint: place half of the box on a solid surface and cut just along the edge of that surface so your saw is putting pressure against it. Floating the box don't work so well...
