Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

One logical inconsistency of Jurassic World which pisses me off to no end is the idea that they recreated prehistoric seas creatures. From DNA found prehistoric mosquitos travelling the oceans, presumably.
well amber can be found at coasts of the Baltic Sea

:brickwall: sorry, i tent to forget that - i'd like to promise it won't happen again but i will probably need to learn it the hard way (it's the second time you had to remind me)

:brickwall: i just put a postit to my main monitor NO HOTLINKS ON TREKBBS, but in the heat of battle ...

:brickwall: should have done it like that

'nuff said

:brickwall: i am a highly 'optical' guy but when i think about it i actually know i must not hotlink - it's not yet automated, i'm afraid

Don't give yourself a headache.

Looks like you need the Ludovico method:

I have loved books all my life. I have heard stories of people ripping out pages to keep while throwing away the rest of the book. I also know people who write in books but I have never done that. Even when the editing is crummy, I don't write corrections in the book. It's just unthinkable.

I've had my own thoughts and observations about the last three years. At least, trying to rationalize the local authority's behaviour in the midst of dealing with antisocial neighbours.

Recently, I stumbled across a piece of information online. I don't know what motivated me to scour an employer review site. Maybe it was the residual effect of the March Mercury retrograde? The universe wanted me to unlock another hidden secret?

For months, I've gone no contact with the local authority to avoid their abusive cycle of circular phone calls and meetings. They weren't interested in a solution to the antisocial problem. They clearly didn't want to stop ramming word salad down my throat despite the threat of legal action. (Which just led to more word salad and character assassination.) If I hadn't put some distance between us then I wouldn't have the clarity that I do now.

Granted, the current employee's review was submitted anonymously and could be taken with a pinch of salt. However, it felt like the final piece of the puzzle. Or I'd finally hit the emotional jackpot. Their words validated my bad experience with them in just three lines; albeit from an insider's point of view.

Basically, there's a lack of communication/respect/appreciation from management, and a lack of implementing ideas. I was probably the target of frustration and stupidity from staff and bosses. Something that nobody deserves. Especially when it's their job to help the public.

Overall, going no contact was the best punishment because I wouldn't like to be stuck in that environment.

I'm watching an old episode of QI just now, and they just talked about how the American flag on the moon, due to about fifty years of extreme temperatures (months of extreme heat, months of extreme cold), is bleached to whiteness by now. I thought it a bit funny that when alien invaders come to Earth, the first thing they'd see when passing the moon would be a White Flag put there by the US government.

Agreed. Even if I end up hating a book I've bought, I won't deface it or just bin it. I'll send it to the charity shop, but it'll be in as good condition as when I bought it.
