What you need, is booze.I have an important meeting tomorrow and my mind keeps reminding me of that so I can't enjoy my Sunday, as well as I'd like.

I wonder about the first people to look at something like snails and think "Yum! I gotta try that!)
I'm telling you, 2 dudes daring each other to do dumb stuff is a tradition that's been going on for millennia. Same with whoever was the first person to drink from a cow, no doubt.
I'm trying to keep myself occupied this week so I don't have to pay attention to the thoughts that make me depressed. It usually helps.
It would be better to solve whatever makes you have depressing thoughts.

I am in therapy for extended help. I prefer not to think about it often because I spent a whole year with that line of thinking (majority of late 2017-18) and I'm getting out of now through my own strength and outside help. I can tell you I've felt better then I did a year ago.Distraction is a viable and accepted practice in DBT, but it's not to be used in excess. I tend to rely on distraction, myself. It helps, but should not be turned into a crutch as I have done. It used to be my default response on those little daily worksheets.
I will say that distraction has been the most helpful thing in my life because I am able to face my thoughts briefly and acknowledge them so I can move on throughout my day since my therapist and doctor recommended it. I appreciate the help but part of my issue is too many ideas and suggestions starts the cycle. Sorry if that's a little too deep.I am in therapy for extended help. Thanks for understanding.Makes perfect sense to me.
