Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

The problem is that if you sign for it, they can later send you the bill.

Not sure that they can do here. I used to work in order fulfilment for BT and deliveries were often disputed. All we could do was send a disclaimer for the customer to sign that they hadn’t received it and they got a free phone. I tested our courier with a parcel sent to my home. The consignment was logged as signed and delivered even though I wasn’t in, and when I got home there was a card through door informing me that the parcel was left at the butty shop across the road.

I find that problematic. If the parcel is damaged, for example, they can always pretend that they delivered it intact (implying that it's your neighbor that later damaged it).

Went on plantation tour around New Orleans. Was thinking about seeing beautiful architecture but really you feel you’re surrounded by death and misery.

Even the stories on the tour make the owners sound even worse than average for slave owners.

Now just looking forward to the NYE parties back in French Quarter.

I was watching a PBS show today about some sandstone arches in the southwest US and they mentioned their "music" which reminded me of the Singing Towers in Doctor Who. At least until they introduced the geologist in charge, Miles O'Brien! THAT made my day. ;)

I just looked another one of the symptoms I've been experiencing from time to time lately and it turns out that I have Gary Busey.

Anyway, the only thing that I was able to find with this symptom is Angina/MI. Sharp pain in my left chest that extends to my left shoulder blade. Honestly, I was more worried about cancer than I was about heart issues with this particular pain, but this does make sense. My dad had his major heart attack just before he turned 50 and spent his birthday in a 2-week coma in the hospital afterward. I've lived my life less healthily than he did (not that he wouldn't have lived the same life, but honestly, food products and technology have made life for many even less healthy). I'm 45.

I've experienced a low-blood-glucose-induced heart attack. It was less than what I would describe as "fun". That was a few years ago.

I hope it isn't serious.

Sounds nice.

I’m thinking Doctor Who is on in two hours, and my chicken will be done at quarter to seven.

There's a ditch on my way to the running path. If I hesitate ever so slightly before skipping over it, chances are I'll trip and fall or at least will have some difficulties staying on my feet. If I go there without a second thought as if it was the most natural thing in the world, I'll pass it without a problem. It's really a case where hesitation is the only thing that kills the deal. It's kind of a metaphor for life.
