I personally find that nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
Is there such a thing as Pyrrhic Defeat?
Cleveland Browns fans probably think so.
They're kind of missing the point aren't they?Does anyone feel like some of the series threads get way too unnecessarily heated sometimes? People get really upset when talking about Star Trek. And kind of rude.
It leads me to hiding in here and TNZ.
Exactly! It’s entertainment not politics. They're kind of missing the point aren't they?

Yeah, I mean even politics, if you’re confident enough in your point there’s no need for people to be rude and dismissive. I think it’s unnecessary for things to stoop to that level.Gotta disagree with you here. Trek is almost all politics and morality plays, but it's about accepting differences and attempting to resolve issues. That, in my opinion, is where people seem to miss the point.
Sometimes people have a beef for some personal reason. Maybe they've had a bad day. Or maybe it bothers them when someone they don't really like is debating something (so they can't help but try interjecting with insults). The thing is, they think it'll make them feel better either a) successfully dissing or putting down someone, or b) being right about a topic of discussion. There are a lot of people out there who can't resist going on an "I'm right" parade and try to reach the end in triumph. When someone won't let go and keeps them from doing it (because the need to correct is strong) then things get heated up.Does anyone feel like some of the series threads get way too unnecessarily heated sometimes? I like the Feline thread and the Voyager forum to remind myself of a kind of common ground. You know what I mean? Like cats and animals are fascinating and your favourite Trek is why we all gravitated to this site in the first place. There's like no pressure and it's cool.Does anyone feel like some of the series threads get way too unnecessarily heated sometimes? People get really upset when talking about Star Trek. Tardis?Having a play to figure out how to create certain shapes nearly procedurally in 3ds Max.
On a few minor manual edits to get these shapes:

They're the same model, one with one modifier active and the other with another.
Tardis?
Yeah!! I feel like that with a lot of the Misc threads, like this one particularly.I like the Feline thread and the Voyager forum to remind myself of a kind of common ground. You know what I mean?
