Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Well it depends on the situation, if it's just a completely random out of nowhere, then yeah that's bad. But if it's a situation where encouraging a compassionate alternative is possible, as long as you're not obnoxious about it, I'd see it being a problem.
And veganism is not a diet, it goes way beyond that to a full lifestyle.
Which is why it came across as a bit more pretentious. It was random, unasked for, and during a therapeutic session. Part of the challenges of being a mental health provider is that people feel they can tell you everything and expect you to automatically agree. Which, is ok until you get in to things like this and people push hard for you to agree.

It...did not go as well as I would have liked.

I will respect the whole lifestyle aspect. I will also disagree for a wide variety of reasons that I will not go in to here because 1) I'm tired and 2) I am enjoying being pissed off about other things right now and pissing off people by saying the wrong thing.

That's probably for the best, since I doubt either of us are going to change our positions and all that would happen is that we'd probably just end up pissing each other off.
And yes, I would love to see more people go vegan, but I respect that it's a choice and it shouldn't be forced on people.

Oh, and how exactly do you pronounce 'vegan', anyway? I always thought it was "vedge-an", like you're about to say the word "vegetable". But I've heard it said "VEE-gan." That just sounds...wrong.
When I first saw the word "vegan" in print, I thought it was pronounced to rhyme with "pagan" and meant someone from the star Vega (a.k.a. Alpha Lyrae), or possibly from Las Vegas.

BTW, what ever happened to good old-fashioned vegetarians?

They were eaten.

;)

I kid.

Is there such a thing as a lawn made of Astroturf? I would love that. Imagine a lawn that can't sprout weeds and never needs mowing... :adore:
I believe so, but it is more costly at least initially.

Oh yeah it's a thing, they're starting to become more common out here since they're a good way to save water during the draught we've been in for the last few decades now.

They're still around, I went through a brief vegetarian phase while I was changing over to being vegan.

I wish handheld electronic games would make a comeback but if only for nostalgia. I had a few of them and miss the heck out of them especially Astro Wars and Defender.

My favorite hand-held game was this one. :D Two-player, pocket-sized and perfect for killing time in a long movie line. And all you needed to save your progress was a couple of slips of paper.

Oh wow that's pretty cool

I made a big decision today.

I have done this before on a whim but today decided I might do it for real. Deleting all social media such as Facebook. It's just not enjoyable anymore.

Has anyone else done this?

EDIT: just over 10 hours since my decision and you know what I feel no pangs of withdrawal or urges to hop back onto facebook or anything. I was wondering if I'd be feeling any regrets and wanting to log back in and see but nope nothing.

*Religious nut pulls some cruel/bigoted/ignorant bullshit*
"Don't judge whole religions, judge the actions of individual followers!"
*Judges individual*
"You can’t judge them for that! It's part of their religion!"

Either make it make sense, or stop pretending you're anything but a conservative in disguise.
