Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

You know, swears are a bizarre phenomenon.

It’s like we, as a species, decided to designate certain words as bad, just so it would be fun to say them.

Agreed.

Tell you the truth...relative personal value is kind of a wash. It was something I was probably going to sell to fund something else, anyway, but after this new news I got, I may need to give up what I have to fund the NEW thing, but in the end, they're all related and could possibly net so much more.

Finding the appropriate group (and I have) is the way it would be funded in time (with any luck at all).

And I'm afraid that, due to my own worries and, frankly, selfishness, I cannot name the new item until after I have mine. I don't want to create a run on the item(s).
Don't need to know the specific item, just curious about the category & price factor involved.

I've learned that when we teach sign language to apes (mostly chimpanzees) they spontaneously make up swear words. So it's not just a human thing.

^you're refering to Washoe who called one of the biologists dirty when he teased her? I recall what an outcry that scene caused back in the 80s :) It was a quantum leap in ethology.

I suspect that every communicating species has their own sorts of swearwords and insults. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if in many cases that'd be "human"..

Sorry, it's only a few hundred dollars and is in the costume category. What I have to sell would more than cover the cost of what I'd like to get. :)

And it's more a factor of rounding out what I already have in connection to those items, but could help with possible future endeavors, as well.

It is. They just don't use it in mixed company...

The more I think about it and the more I learn, the more I want a really good VR headset. Not to become the kid on the Progressive commercial, but for all of the really cool possibilities, not only what's out there, currently, but how I could interact with my own creations.

The lack of etiqute when getting off/on public transport here, espcially the LUAS always amazes me.

Going out the Out Door (silly concept, I know), I'm constantly needing to avoid a group of people coming in the Out Door, always right down the middle when I have a cart of stuff. They just don't care.

As well, when I was in the hospital (in a wheelchair), I would go to get off of an elevator, and there were always people ramming their way IN even before I had a chance to begin to make my way out.

I hate that.

I was in a hotel in Richmond and two girls about my age did this to an older couple that were in the elevator with me. The older woman said “exuse me, you’re supposed to let people exit first” and the girls made some snide comment about how she was rude.

I can’t believe people did that when you were in a wheelchair!

I spend a fair amount of time in hotels, and I can say this happens to me a fair amount.

Luckily for me, I'm a very big guy, so I just keep walking and they usually part like the Red Sea.
