Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I hope all the US members had a nice Thanksgiving!

There were also a couple older ladies I saw a lot, but who I haven't seen in even longer, so I'm wonder what's going on with them too. They were never that friendly, so to be honest, I'm not nearly as concerned as I am about the other two.
I actually saw these two today, but I don't think they noticed me. Still nice to see them again though. Now, I'm hoping maybe this is a sign that I'll see the ladies I'm friendlier with soon.

Got my Moderna booster today, so I'm as fully prepared as can be for Omicron, upcoming family holiday gatherings and the usual mask-less idiots in the gym (and pretty much everywhere else...very few people where I live take Covid seriously anymore).

Even though I had an appointment it still took over an hour to complete in the flustercluck Walgreens I went to and I spent all of that time standing around with the dozen other customers who lucked out on the only three chairs. Of course, like everyone, the store blamed it on the "labor shortage", rather than admitting they are just unorganized and if there aren't enough workers, it's only because they don't pay or treat them right.

While waiting, I overheard two different Q-balls in the drive-through asking if they carried Ivermectin. Really? I felt the employees were too kind as I would have sarcastically told them to check out the Feed & Tractor store down the road and make sure to pick up some oats for dinner while they were there. But that's just me.

Overall, I'm feeling pretty good. My arm isn't as sore as the first two shots; although I'm feeling just a little run-down. Definitely worth it.

Same here. Hubby and I felt run-down for a few days but that's it. Since my parents are Q-balls (love that!), we felt it was best to do before the holidays when we'll spend more time with them.

I'm feeling as normal as can be (and for me, normal is a relative term ) today; although my arm is moderately sorer than yesterday, but I did inadvertently lay on it a few times last night so that likely explains it. My wife got her booster today at a different pharmacy, but it still took almost an hour even with an appointment and I witnessed two different customers telling them off because they messed up on their scheduling for the shot. Walgreens is simply the worst place to go for vaccines I'm convinced.

She's feeling the effects more than I did this time around but I think a lot of it has to do with the different vaccines. The Moderna booster is a half dose, while she got another of the full-strength Pfizer and is likely why my arm hasn't felt like it's going to fall off for the next three days like when I got the other two.

While I'm disappointed my sister and her kids won't be joining the rest of us on Christmas, at least it means I won't have to endure her Dunsel husband who in typical modern Republican fashion loves to bring up controversial topics and trolling behavior whenever they visit and I'm sure this year we'd all have to listen to his repetition of the "Let's Go Brandon" joke making the rounds in the "We are all out of actual ideas of substance so let's just act like second graders" land. Strangely enough, he did allegedly get the jab after claiming Covid was overhyped, so I guess there's a very small sliver of hope yet.

My mom and I haven't gotten our boosters yet, but we want to. We want to get them at the med school campus we got our original shots, but we haven't gotten anything from them about them, so we're not sure how we go about getting them. They were pretty good the last time, so we wanted to go back there.

Wish this overnight temperature drop in the land of eternal sunshine would go away as it's causing me to lose sleep. Heat-mooching cats are pressed up against me like immovable bricks all night so I can't roll over. One even kept waking me up by lying on my chest (the heaviest one!) which she never does any other time. If I put them out, they will cry outside the door all night and squabble. Between that and the wife groaning all night about her sore arm and running a slight fever due to the booster, the couch is looking like a pretty good option tonight .

After my post, mom got ahold of them, and it turns out they're fully booked until next month, and don't know when they'll have more appointments. So this morning we got them at the pharmacy at a grocery store up the street.

I was just thinking today that it really is incredible the way the internet has connected the world. Lately, I've commented back and forth with people in Australia, The Netherlands, and Italy on Instagram, watched British, Icelandic, and Italian TV shows on AMC+, listened to music from 2 German, 1 Swedish, and 1 Mexican rock band on Spotify, and even here we have posters from all over the world.

Good. We got our boosters at the grocery store pharmacy too.

It is amazing, isn't it? We live in the future!

I actually ran into the other second pair of horseback riders I hadn't seen in a while. The ironic part was when I was heading to the neighborhood where I see them, I had figured they probably weren't going to be there, and that I wasn't going to see them again until the weather got warmer. Then when I passed the stables at the end of the street, they were there getting their horses ready, along with another girl I've seen a few times.
By the time I went back through for my second lap through the neighborhood they were out riding, so we stopped and talked for a couple minutes. Turns out the younger one of the pair hadn't been riding since having her baby, and I had apparently been missing the older one when she was out by herself. From what the younger one said, it sounds like we'll probably be seeing each other on a regular basis again.
I just love how when you keep waiting for something to happen, and it doesn't happen, until you finally give up on it happening.
