Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

This is what I like about the forum, not the quality discussion of all things Trek and similar, it’s the googling of interesting eats that I can add to my food bucket list.

They don’t have that here.
Be careful though, some of these things make your cholesterol go off the charts.

I never take any supplements or medication. Of course, I am lucky that I am not suffering from anything serious... but so far so good (I am 58). People keep telling me that I don't look a day over 45... My secret? Initial poverty! My father built his own house and bought a large piece of land, that he turned partly into a vegetable garden and partly an orchard. he raised chickens and rabbits and we (my siblings and I) ate little else... So no pesticides, no chemical crap you find in most things you buy in stores until I was almost 18.

Some idiot parked his car in front of my alley and I had to call the police to take it away. It's a good thing I saw it now and not a couple of hours later or I would have missed my next appointment because of him!!

You were lucky to see it in time!
I have the impression that people nowadays only think of what is good for themselves and never stop a moment to think what consequences their actions have for others.
So... do board members who use the retina-searing default white theme even realize that  and :sigh: aren't just regular frowny faces?
Actually, no. I find the other templates too dark and exhausting on the eyes so that I stick with the white one. It's interesting, though, that the additional graphic elements don't show on the white template if you highlight the smilies.

I think "Get Back" is my favorite Beatles song. Billy Preston would have made a great fifth Beatle, and I love the loose feel of those Live Let It Be tunes. The Anthology 3 version is my favorite.

It’s become obvious, that the one solution to all of my problems, is a working Time Machine.

That's really interesting, I'm just the opposite, and much prefer the darker shades to looking at that white all the time. It's not as bad now since I've had the eye surgery, though. When we were first testing the board in XenForo, white was the only theme we had, and my eyes were so bad it was just a big blurry, whitish mess! It was really difficult to read anything, and for a while, I thought I would have to quit the board!

^ I agree, I think the blue one is too intense. I’m trying out the gray one now. It feels ok to me so far.

Ohhh, by "blue one" you mean Big Blue? Oh, yes, "intense" is a good word for that one! Old Gray is my theme of choice, but I have to admit, that's the first one I thought of when you mentioned the "blue one", since it's really blues and gray-blues. :)

If you ever did get one, maybe we could set something up where you share it with the rest of the board too? (Hmm... would that be a time share?)

Am I tho only one tired and bored about talking about Trump? I feel everything their is to say about him has been said. Not just by me but by everyone. I want a boring as hell president again and I will even settle for a old school Republican at this point than yet more Trump drama .

no, you're not alone. His latest escapades keep heading the news here. For months now the first thing you see when you open any news-website is his face. Admittedly, his tribble-in-an-electrostatic-field hairstyle fits carnival, but at normal times of the year I'd like to be spared that view.

What's even worst is Trump jokes have also been played out. You can't even make a new Trump joke because someone has already beat you to it. Especially since many of them are just recylced, dumb president jokes that go back not to just George W Bush but Dan Qualye. I do miss the Bushism's though. It was funny seeing the President not be able to speak English and he always had something new and different to say in a dumb way. With Trump he just repeats the same stuff over and over. 'It's going to be Huge" and "Fake News" etc. Hitting those catchphrases pretty hard. Those other guys didn't use catchphrases. Qualye was famous for the Potato thing and Trump for not saying Nuclear right but they didn't work into ever speech they made.
