Well, it's one of those phrases. The Beatles sang about working like a dog, but certainly there are many animals who work quite a lot harder than dogs.

So I ordered a blu-ray of “The Death of Stalin” off of Amazon because I heard good things and it was selling for like $10.

This morning I got the shipping notification.

From DENMARK.

Dumbass wasn’t paying attention and accidentally ordered the GERMAN language edition.

But... but... WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!? :scream:

Also, I had to Google "pig in a poke", because I don't recall hearing that dish before (although I assumed it was something along the same idea as "pigs in a blanket").

However, Google appears to be telling me it's not a dish at all, but rather a phrase that means

something that is bought or accepted without knowing its value or seeing it first.

So is there a dish that my Google-fu isn't finding, or is this actually a thing where the restaurant would bring you something without you knowing what it was beforehand?

Don't worry. German versions usually have subtitles in half a dozen of languages and very often the original sound is also available. If you give me a link to the version you bought, I can look up the language options on the German website.
Your bigger prob might be the different systems (PAL vs NTSC) and a possible region lock. But neither should matter if you watch the DVD on a computer.

Would it be this one? It (surprisingly) has no subtitles but an English dolby digital 5.1 version in addition to 3 German ones

Your Google Fu needs work, young Padawan.
Pig in a poke is a sausage dish usually served for breakfast. It consists of sausages cooked in a thick batter (a bit like a Yorkshire pudding). It also refers to an expression meaning to "buy a pig in a poke" is to buy it sight unseen, accept without examining it.

Sort of works with the episode "Mystery Spot", as things are happening that appear real, are accepted as real, but aren't.
