The front of my fingers hurt from bouldering and the back of my fingers hurt from being hit with airsoft pellets. (Paintball with BBs).

Has anyone ever played Airsoft?
It’s like paintball, only instead of paint you’re shooting each other with CO2 powered bb assault rifles.
You don’t get hurt, you’re covered in protective gear, but you get lots of tiny welts. No matter what a few hit me right on the finger joints and those are the ones that actually get in the way after.
I think it’s fun in small doses, but all my friends are now super into it. And I find myself with the decision to either play it for eight hours once every couple weeks or be antisocial, especially since our D&D game went on hiatus.
I need to find a new group hobby to get them all hooked on.

I have been hit with a bb a few times w/o cover/padding-- and ouch--but I shook it off cuz it was my moron widdle bro. No protective "gear" or hi-power compression was involved.

But, I'm betting you would have better luck finding a different group that you would be more comfortable with, than trying to change them, which rarely works. Good luck, whichever way you choose.

Airsoft uses lighter-weight plastic ball bearings rather than steel ball bearings, so there is that to relieve some folks' mental images...
However, they can still hurt!
I just have two spring-action Airsoft pistols. Both are the base model pistol that Han's and Luke's blasters were created from but one of them is like 2/3-scale.

I don't watch the news on TV, and instead get all my news online. Which means that many times I'll see a name, and not know for sure how it is pronounced. After reading the name "Buttigieg" for months now, an article I read today finally--FINALLY--made a point of mentioning the pronunciation.
Apparently, it's "boot-edge-edge". That is pretty much not even close to any of the possibilities that I considered as likely.
