Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Today's featured article on the front page of the English language version of Wikipedia is the article for the episode "Faces" from Star Trek: Voyager.

I don't think I've ever seen an individual Star Trek episode pop up there before.

What are hedge hoppers? I’m familiar with hedgehogs and grass hoppers. Am afraid of what a crossover species might be like. (I know it’s not actually possible but the two words make think of it)

^^ After a quick google search based on context, I'm guessing they're low-flying aircraft that had broken the sonic barrier, which I'm assuming is just as illegal in Germany as it is here over most of the US Mainland.

Used to happen all the time where my mom grew up, which was just a few miles away from an Airforce base (or was it a Navy airfield? F-4 Phantoms used to break the speed of sound all the time up there and my mom's parents had to replace broken windows all the time. This was before that law was passed.

It's weird, I used to watch them flying by and dropping something into the forest a lot. I'm assuming they were dummy bombs and they were practicing.

Aaaah. THank you. Hubs was stationed at Bamburg*-am unfamiliar with the term. Brother was in K-town at the AirBase and witnessed that horrible air show crash in 99 or 98. Said he’ll never forget the screaming and the burning people. Regulations for a reason. :wah:

* army base so less air traffic. Believe it might actually have been decommissioned and shut down by now.

It breaks my heart that Americans have to be faced with these kinds of decisions. :(

I am honestly baffled by the reluctance in the US to move to a universal system.
Yea it makes no sense. They just keep on buying into the false argument that it's evil socialism. :wtf: And that the system that was there before was better. Which is far from being the truth. Denying people coverage due to pre-existing conditions... that's such a scam.

Nobody's pushed back against it, but from reading others' comments on the movie, I seem to have an unpopular opinion of the Aquaman movie; I did not like it at all.

I haven’t seen yet, but I’m in no rush. None of the DC stuff appeals to me right now, which is annoying because it was DC that I always preferred when I was younger.
