Random Question...

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a certain TV show (or at least the episode). My problem is that I only remember small scenes. I do know it's about this alien who landed on Earth somehow and he's modeled himself to look like humans. I remember one scene where he's traveling in a taxi and the meter is fixed so that it charges more than what is advertised. The alien tries to prove the math, and the driver argues that he just goes by what the meter says. The alien then holds a hand up to the meter and changes it to the correct amount. (The driver subsequently becomes pissed off because he earns less money now.)
I also remember that there was this Earth girl who was helping him out, hiding his identity, etc.

I know it's not a lot to go on, but does anyone have a clue as to what I'm talking about or knows a website where I can find this? I would try IMDB, but I don't think I have enough to go there. It's not vital that I find this show, just curiosity. :)

Thanks for any help!

witchbsword, I'm going to send your random question over to General Media where it is more appropriate.

Howdy all, I was thinking Starman myself... but this Alien wasnt sent to earth as a punishment was he? And did he have a small floating jailer that pretended to be a balloon?

It wouldn't be Starman, because in the series his human guide/companion was his teenage son, not a woman.

That latter show you're referring to was Hard Time on Planet Earth, starring Martin Kove. It's possible that's what the original poster is thinking of, but I doubt it, because Kove's character didn't have a human woman helping him either. As I recall, that was one of the show's weaknesses, its lack of the "guide to humanity" character that's usually an integral part of such shows.

Could it be Tracker, with Adrian Paul as an alien bounty hunter who took human form? I believe he did have an Earthwoman helping him.

Lol, I think I recognize Mork and Mindy when I see it! :p

Christopher- I checked your Tracker reference on IMDB and this may be the one. Thanks!

SPOCKED- Sorry, I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes here!
