Quicken 2000 Export Problems

I'm trying to migrate my data from Quicken 2000 to iBank on my Mac. I'm following the instructions on Quicken for exporting to a QIF file, yet it won't create a file. I've tried writing the file to the root of my hard drive and my thumb drive and nothing. At one point it created a file I named Export.QIF, yet it was empty. I have four accounts with 8 years of transactions I'm trying to export, so the amount of data is not an issue. I've tried searching the Web, but the results aren't proving useful.

OK, I checked around the web and it seems that Intuit's software is not written well. I found a board at Intuit's site where someone addressed this very question and someone responded verbatim what the export instructions are. The OP had the same problem I do in that Quicken just won't produce a file. More research showed that Quicken up to version 2008 is just plagued with problems that Intuit won't admit exist or refuse to correct.

So now, I'm looking for a good financial software program to use on my Mac. A friend recommended iBank, which I have on a trial right now. If anyone can recommend anything different/better I would appreciate it.
