Quick Question on Revenge of the Sith

From TRoS itself as well as from the tie-in material.

That has always been stated fact and has never changed. In fact, it's one of the few Lore Constants that the Star Wars IP actually has.

Oh Disney. You have truly screwed up this franchise.

"Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong".

George Lucas established Anakin's concrete status as the Chosen One and the means by which he restored Balance to the Force long before he (Lucas) agreed to sell overall ownership of Lucasfilm and all of its assets to Disney, and that absolute tenet of Lore has been steadfastly maintained ever since by the person who actually controls the company and its assets (Kathleen Kennedy).

I would explain what I was trying to say, but . . yeah, I won't bother.

Um, no. The franchise was well and truly screwed back in the PT days, especially with ROTS and the first Clone Wars movie, if you believed the online hype the time.

That's your opinion. It's not mine.

Well, no, it was the opinion I observed throughout my online dalliances in the early 2000s. I don't see how the franchise is in a worst place than at the time, but apparently you do so enjoy it I guess.

In some ways it's a shame we didn't hear this in ROTS.

Speeches are not really Anakin's thing. He's a doer, not a talker. And it doesn't fit with Order 66, where the clones are all pre-programmed to be homicidal towards Jedi.

I could have seen this being the PR line from Vader in public if he hadn't been Mustafar'd.

Another character needed to deliver that line.

Frank Langella would have been perfect.

You could almost buy it.

Yeah. Say what you want about TROS, but Palpatine having backup plans upon backup plans only to come undone because he can’t predict the actions of individuals, that’s completely in keeping with ROTJ.
That part I will agree with. The idea that he'd plan for his demise and have multiple contingencies in place to 1) try and not actually be dead*, and 2) either way, make sure Vader or whoever managed to finally bump him off doesn't get to inherit his Empire, all makes perfect sense. The problem was the narrative execution.

*I still maintain that he was actually dead and never came back and that thing on Exogol was a clone with a copy of his personality bound to the throne by magiks.
