Question about Adm. Marcus [spoilers]

Robert_T_April

Captain
Captain
When Kirk met with Admiral Marcus, and it was brought up that Kirk was talked into joining Starfleet by then Captain Pike, Admiral Marcus said to Kirk, and I'm not positive what his exact words were, but he asked "who do you think talked Pike into joining?"

Who do you think Marcus was talking about when he said that? Himself?...George Kirk?...

Thoughts?

Himself. Marcus recruited Pike.

It was his Dooku recruited Qui-Gonn recruited Obi-Wan moment.

The real question about Marcus is - what the hell is he wearing in the second half of the film?

Doesn't seem (and probably isn't) Starfleet regulation. Even Scotty asked the guy who found him in the hanger bay if he was Starfleet or private secruity...

Now if you're talking about the fashion... :p

While he was living in Britain, Admiral Marcus was a huge fan of historic football and especially of Mario Balotelli when he played for Manchester City, so he patterned the Section 31 uniforms on Balotelli's goal celebration undershirt/overshirt pullover combo.

Must be his Section 31 uniform (I did notice the rank stripes as well). Nice to see a different uniform unlike on Enterprise where Harrison has the same uniform that Sloan wears 200 years later! Seems like the timeline's changed their uniform.....

Section 31 is so secret they even have their own uniforms!

Okay, seriously, why would Nero's arrival make Section 31 ditch black leather?

Marcus was trying to get away from the obviously evil look.

Trench coats were being done by Khan that year. Nero and his men also wore trench coats. Admiral Marcus isn't like them. "HE'S A GOOD GUY"

Obviously the Section 31 budget was beefed up after Nero's threat was revealed which meant they didn't have to wear the hand me downs from the Earth Starfleet era (maybe Khan designed them like he helped design USS Vengeance!). :p It makes sense....
