Quantum of Solace.

JUST as a suggestion to those going to the Bond showings.

1.) Congrats.

2.) Just an idea, but if anyone was planning just to stay for the trailer and then leave during Bond.. if you don't have anything to do for the next couple of hours or have to be anywhere, I might recommend just hanging out and watching the whole film regardless. Some Bond fans might get a little upset if you are getting up and leaving before the new movie starts. I would think Star Trek fans would be as well if this happened at the new movie. I know some of the Bond fans might be aware of the Trekkies in the audience. As a fanbase where "Give it a chance" is the new tagline, out of courtesy to the Bond fans I would return this courtesy to them.

So, give the new Bond a chance as well, even if you haven't been in to Bond before, you may like it! And hey, you might get more value for your dollar and the Bond/Mainstream fans may just return the courtesy to us and Star Trek this summer!

Not to be preachy, but just some thought for everyone of course. Your call though. I know if I had the opportunity to do this I would too!

Actually, I think the Bond fans would be applauding if the Trek fans left. They have our 10 bucks towards the film's total and a less crowded theater to boot.

Unfortunately, my wife wants to see Bond... so I'll be staying for the whole show.

Just got back from the movie, unfortunately they did not show the Trek trailer before the movie, but I did enjoy the QoS even if I felt there was a bit too much action for my liking.

Same at my theater - no Star Trek trailer!

Oh well, Bond was still all kinds of kick a$$. I'm digging this whole anti-hero thing they've been working on. Definitely breathes some new life into the character. Without revealing any spoilers, the movie was certainly worth it, for those who are wondering.

Yeah, Craig and this new direction are breathing a little life into the old dinosaur. Very enjoyable, and the growing friendship of sorts between "M" and Bond is quite nice.

I am actually going for Bond. I've never been a James Bond fan, but I recently saw Casino Royale and loved it, so I'm interested in the movie, and the trailer is a nice bonus.
And it's a damned good thing I as going for Bond too... no trailer in that theater.
I've been to one other midnight showing (Dark Knight), and thought is was a different and fun experience, so when I saw that QoS was having one, I figured it would be fun to get my second midnight showing in.
This aspect was disappointing. The theater was pretty (ok, very) empty, and the fun atmosphere that was there for TDK midnight showing just wasn't there. Good movie anyways.

After reading pretty bad reviews in The Washington Post and The New York Times, and after scanning the "top critics" reviews over on Rotton Tomatoes (23 top critics' reviews, and 15 are negative), it could be a few Bond fans may be leaving the theater, themselves. ;)

Considering the mixed and largely mediocre reviews it's getting, I'm now not sure whether I'm gonna see QoS - I would definitely see it if I KNEW the Trek trailer would play, but a bunch of people are saying it didn't play.... is there any way I can find out whether it will be showing the Trek trailer?

Ask at the Guest Services. I asked them if the teaser was showing at Cloverfield and they supplied the affirmative.

Our theater will give a refund as long as you leave the screening before the films half way point. I never left right after the previews though, that feels wrong to me. I really have no interest in seeing QoS so I have to wait till Monday to see it.

Just bought tickets for the Sunday night showing. I love James Bond movies, but haven't seen them in years. Never saw any of the the Pierce Brosnan ones, and I didn't see Craig's first one either. Hope it doesn't leave me too confused as to what's going on in this one.

You should definitely try to watch Casino Royale before you go to the cinema on Sunday.

I take it that it doesn't keep with the book.

I wouldn't know. I've never read any of the Fleming-novels.

No Trek. No Watchmen. :(

On a brighter note, I did get to see that new Will Smith trailer for the 40th time.

I didn't walk out. I actually watched a Bond movie for the first time in my life. It was fairly entertaining. :shifty:

I went to see QoS and I did see the Trek trailer.

The utter gayness this trailer portends for the movie is astounding.

But, whatever..."wait and see" and all that jazz.

"Gayness"?

Was there a Kirk/Spock kiss, or did it just make you really happy?
