And the other problem is that when you quote somebody here, you can actually change the quote. So I'm not sure it would actually solve any disputes.

Posts can only be edited for a certain period of time here. And when you Quote a Post, only you or a Forum Mod can edit it; so just Quoting somebody is "Quoting For Truth" as far as that goes.

But you must not actually post first. This is bad form. You must post third, fourth or fifth, and edit your post to say "Crap! Beat me to it!"
