[Admiral Shran]

[Borg ship]

(They have reached a different part of the ship - the maturation chambers. There are baby noises, and incubator units maintained by a lot of machinery)

RIKER: Captain this is incredible. We've entered what appears to be the Borg nursery.

 

[Vanyel]

Picard (over the com): Describe it.

 

[Admiral Shran]

RIKER: From the look of it the Borg are born as biological life forms. It seems that almost immediately after birth they begin artificial implants. Apparently the Borg have developed the technology to link artificial intelligence directly into the humanoid brain. Astounding.

 

[Vanyel]

Data is scanning a nearby wall.
Data: Commander.

 

[Admiral Shran]

RIKER: What is it?

 

[Vanyel]

Data: The ship appears to be regenerating. Perhaps this explains why they have not taken notice of our presence. Their collective effort is being directed into repairing this vessel.

 

[Admiral Shran]

RIKER: Captain,



[Bridge]

RIKER [OC]: The Borg seem to be using their combined power to repair the ship.

 

[Vanyel]

Picard: Transporter chief, beam the away team directly to the Bridge. (The away team materializes on the Bridge.) Let’s get the hell out of here, warp 8. Now Mr. Crusher, engage.

 

[Admiral Shran]

DATA: Captain, the Borg are in pursuit.

 

[LeadHead]

Picard: On screen. Magnify.

 

[Vanyel]

Picard: On screen. (The Borg Ship is shown giving chase.) Magnify.

 

[Admiral Shran]

RIKER: Increase to ten to the third power.

(They see bent metal straightening)

RIKER: It's continuing to regenerate.

 

[LeadHead]

Picard: Lets see if we can outrun them. Mister La Forge, I want maximum warp for as long as you can hold it.

 

[Vanyel]

Engineering:
LaForge: Yes, sir. We are now passing warp 8.5. (Over the com on the Bridge.) 8.8. Warp 9.

 

[LeadHead]

Riker: Arm the Photon Torpedoes. lets see if we can slow them down.
