Pulp Fiction (SPOILERS)

I just saw Reservoir Dogs. While obviously low budget it still was fucking awesome and made a nice debut film for Tarantino. Tim Roth was especially great in it as Orange. I could see how the same director that did this movie went on to do Pulp Fiction.

I'll admit I didn't particularly like Pulp Fiction at first -- too many "F-bombs" being thrown around, etc. Just not my thing, really.

(I'm a firm believer in one doesn't need to curse every other word just to get your point across. C'est la vie, though.)

But, it's gotten better on repeat showings.

Holdfast -- Why am I not surprised?? ;)

Cheers,

Good god man.... the movie is about criminal murderers. Funny criminal murderers, but still.

What the hell do you want them to sound like? You don't think it would just slightly lessen the realism if they were all "Golly gee, I sure would like to extinguish someone's life force today, that would be splendid don't you agree my good man?"

I'd say there's not a person on the face of the Earth who does not like Pulp Fiction.
Not that I don't like it, I do, but I always thought it was a tad overrated.
Personally I enjoy Resevoir Dogs a lot more.

Although to be fair I haven't sat down and watched PF for years, so maybe I need to give it a refresh

vI can't get into the film outside of Bruce Willis' segment ("Zed's dead, baby -- Zed's dead"), and the cleanup with The Wolf. The rest of it is largely self-indulgent bullshit that only got worse with later films.

Reservoir Dogs is easily Tarantino's best work. He should have quit after that.

So, seriously, we're Spoiler-Coding 15-year old movies now?

Face it, if you've not seen by now you've no reason to be upset if you get spoiled on it.

The Titanic sinks at the end and Jack dies.

I saw Pulp Fiction. Didn't like it. Felt it was more style over substance and what substance it had wasn't much. Overhyped movie and Tarintino as a whole is over hyped.

Resevoir Dogs is very good. I especially liked the fact that they never showed the heist in the movie. It's never important compared to what happens afterwards or the flashbacks. Also the violence is very raw and there is no comic book vibe like all of Tarantino's later movies. Of course I found it a little silly they all wore black and white suits instead of mask and gloves during the whole thing. Style over logic I guess. ;)

Pulp Fiction is what happened after Tarantino got a bigger budget and more stars. Also the movie took more risks with it's non-linear storyline. It could have been really confusing but it was done perfectly. It's also damn funny. I hope Tarantino gets back to doing some more mob movies in the next few years since he is so great at them.

I liked Kill Bill but that needed some serious editing.

Not everyone around here is 30 or 40 years old, ya' know. There might be some 15 year olds here who might discover it for the first time through this very thread.

Well, then, we all know kids aren't into old stuff like that. ;)

With a shrug, I'm just saying that Spoiler Code on movies that old are unecessary. There's probably 14 or 15 year olds out there who've never seen the first Star Wars movies. Should we not then talk openly about Darth Vader being Luke's father.

Ooops. Spilled the beans.

There are also people that have never been interested with crime dramas but are now checking Pulp Fiction out since they heard many good things about it like myself. Just because a movie has been out for years doesn't mean everyone in the world has seen it.

I watched the Last Temptation of Christ the other day. He dies in the end. Oh I ruined the movie for you! -- Gilbert Gottfried

I saw this movie way later than it was originally released when i did a movie night at my place and one of the girls brought it along.

It was awesome.. the dialogue was funny as hell as were the scenes. Suddenly the one who brought the movie starts jumping up and down yelling "The Marvin Scene.. The Marvin Scene!!!" and i was like :wtf::eek: WTF is wrong with you?

Then the Marvin scene happened (won"t spoil it for someone who's yet to see it.. the others know what i'm talking about) and i nearly jumped out of my seat yelling WTF???:lol:

Awesome movie.. one of the best i know. :techman::techman:

Winston Wolf is my role model.

For a while after first watching it, I wanted an Acura NSX so badly.

And just so I could do the "you follow in my Acura... and if I get it back any differently than when I gave it, Monster Joe's gonna be disposing of two bodies" line... :D

Man, great segment, esp. the exchange between Butch & Marsellus after Butch rescues him.

Yeah, Reservoir Dogs is cool, but I'm very glad we got Pulp Fiction too. Kill Bill was nothing special though.

I'm looking forward to his Inglorious Bastards this year too. Probably won't be an all time classic, but from the trailer it looks a lot of fun!

I've still never seen Jackie Brown, but Death Proof was a nice bit of fluff. Although I would have much preferred is Stuntman Mike had killed all those skanks at the end. He was awesome! A great anti-hero

I recently watched it and liked Thurman, Willis, Walken and all the ideas it dealt with, mainly the similarities between criminals and ordinary people and the importance of chance and perception. I didn't really see why Jules let the crooks take the money, isn't that redeeming himself by allowing them to hurt themselves (and the other diners)?
