PSN down thread

So can we just get anything off the store for free or are they just putting up special free items? I looked around the store this morning and I couldn't find anything about free products or the free PS+.

Didn't work so I've left my AV scart in my PS3/TV and when I want to go on it, I will just change the settings of Display & Audio via XMB.

A tad annoying but am sure I can spare the 20 seconds needed ;)
That sucks.

You will have the option to choose two games from a list.

And the free stuff isn't online yet... you'll have to wait a few days for that.

I have the Steam version of this for PC, it's not bad. Not great, but it's a pretty straightforward and simple MTG game. A nice time-waster, and it has online play/ladders.

I'm not sure it's my kind of thing. Never really been into those kinds of card-based games, but I'll give it a bash and see what I think.

A little annoying to play MGS classic, I have to turn my PS3 off and connect it via AV cable because it won't play under the HDMI setting.

Have you tried deleting it and re-downloading it? I know my copy of MGS runs with my normal HDMI settings.

What settings do you have in your display settings on XMB? I wonder if something is different on mine something.

Strange. I've got HDMI only on both my PS3s and don't run into any issues with PS1, PS2, or import PS1 games... Did you disable a view setting by mistake?

I went into my HDMI display settings 560, 720 & 1080 (P & I) and turned them all off and put them back on one at a time to see if any of them were causing the issue.

560 - ok
720 - ok
1080 I - ok
1080 P -ok

 its now working after I turned them off and put them back, one by one. I don't have a clue but I won't complain

^ It's possible it was just a glitch in the HDMI protocol. I've had a couple of those (like two in four years across three connectors).

I hope I don't have too repeat what I did everytime I turn the PS3 on, hopefully your right it was just a glitch. Cheers for all your help everyone and now my issue is resloved, the world can go back to normal ;)

The "Welcome Back" program is up and running.

Just turned my PS3 on and got nothing about it and I can't get into the store now keeps giving me an error and I hear you need to get into the store to choose the Welcome package...I guess just overloaded.

(edit) Just googled and got this...

For PS3 owners, go to the ‘Welcome Back’ section in the PlayStation Store, and select 2 titles from the list of 5.

Those wanting to get their 30 days free PlayStation Plus need to go to the PlayStation Store and under the ‘Welcome Back’ section, select ‘PlayStation Plus: 30 Days Free’, and you’ll be given access. Existing

PlayStation Plus subscribers won’t need to do anything, and their 60 free days will be added automatically.

PlayStation Network users will also get a large number of free virtual items in PlayStation Home, with more information on that available in the near future.

Yeah a lot of people also seem to be having a problem downloading their content (and the option to DL games disappearing) so I'd suggest waiting a while before trying to download the free stuff.

Sony why not just roll it out slowly to every region instead of all at once.

^ Each region gets their own store, so I'm not sure if that would help. Though I guess it depends on how their servers are setup.

But yeah, they could limit the number of simultaneous connections.

I am even getting error codes trying to access account information and I go on other forums and everyone's screaming blue murder, the service is flooded with traffic.

Sony your just creating another P.R fiasco, I don't see how no one suggested we better roll out the welcome package to North America first then Europe day later then Japan and finally any other territories. I will wait a few hours before I bother ;)
