It seems though who have never brought off PSNStore or their account is new-ish so basically Sony cannot confirm the account to your console. Its one of the security features they added so we need go via email.
Ah... I've never bought anything off the network and checking once I had access, I've never registered a credit-card so I guess they don't give a stuff about me.

Did you download demos or free DLC?!?

That might be why you could change it through the XMB...

But its funny in a way that people waiting to get back onto the free PSN Sony service have to wait for the free MS email service......probably the closest we will get to MS and Sony working together.![]()
Maybe email the consumerist as well?

Hello Hotmail customers who are having issues receiving Sony’s password reset mails,
Thank you for reporting this issue so that we could investigate the situation. When Sony re-launched their online service and then Playstation users initiated password resets, Hotmail saw a dramatic, unexpected increase in mails sent from Sony. Unfortunately, these kinds of huge changes in volume are also one characteristic of an email server that has been compromised by spammers. Consequently, Hotmail temporarily refused delivery of emails from Sony’s password reset servers as a defensive response to a potential spam attack.
We have been in discussions with Sony to identify the affected servers and are delighted to report that this issue should now be resolved. It may take a couple of hours for you to receive your password reset mail. If you do not receive your reset mail within a few hours, please request a new password from Sony.
Hotmail and Sony are actively monitoring this situation to help better ensure that all password reset requests go through as quickly as possible.
Thank you
There you go...Sony and MS working together........wait, i heard a noise at the window.....OMG!!!......A huge bottomless pit has just opened up in the road and you could see huge columns of fire and black acrid smoke erupt into the air, and also what sounds like gazillions of people screaming in agony and terror.....but now its gone very all quite and seems to be covered completely in ice.......very strange.![]()
