Q: The PlayStation Store hasn’t updated since April 19th. When can I download digital games that were planned to be released since then?
A: To date, three Wednesday publishes were missed and rest assured that you won’t miss any of this great content. To catch up on the large amount of material, we’ll be publishing to the PlayStation Store multiple times per week once commerce functionality is restored. We will update the PlayStation.Blog with information on timing of the Store restoration, as well as the full list of new content as each publish occurs.

Q: How will PlayStation Plus members be affected by the PSN downtime? A number of games/items were slated to go live or come down on April 26th.
A: We will be picking back up with the PlayStation Plus content calendar right where we left off, to ensure that you won’t miss out on anything.

Q: Sucker Punch has indicated that they will extend the inFAMOUS 2 beta. Any details?
A: Sucker Punch is evaluating extending the inFAMOUS 2 beta, as well as expanding its scope. Stay tuned for more details here in the coming days.
Which is good news since i actually got invited in the inFamous 2 Beta, but PSN went down before i could use the code...
Dear Rincewiend,

You have been selected to take part in the inFamous 2 User Generated Content Beta Trial.

In inFamous 2 you can create your own missions and upload them for others to play. Design your own challenges, chases, hunts and combat sequences – the only limit to what you can create is your own imagination.

This Beta Trial is exclusive to selected PlayStation®Plus members and is your opportunity to have a go at designing some inFamous 2 missions right now.

Two PS3 games from the following list:

  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Infamous*
  • Wipeout HD/Fury
  • Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
  • Dead Nation*

Nice. That's kind of a tough choice. I'll get Dead Nation... and then I'm torn betweeen LBP, Infamous and Wipeout.

Ohh nice list. I figured they were retail games as they said PS3 instead of PSN, giving them a distinction. I'll likely choose Infamous and Wipeout HD. Now here's the question. Do we actually get to keep these or do they only last as long as we have access to PS+?

I doubt Sony would take them away from you and I actually look forward to PSN+, if its any good I might get it in the future though probably not till 2012

They're nothing to do with PS+, so they're yours to keep.

PS+ would be pretty good for someone like you. You're relatively new to the PS3, so you probably haven't spent that much on the store yet. That'll increase your chances of getting games you don't already own every month.

Personally, I think it's great value for money. I've had well over a 200% return on investmet with the free games alone. Factor in the betas I've got into through it and the cloud saving feature, and it's well worth the £40 a year.

It does sound good with the free stuff at the start of every month but I need to get into PSN first. I think me n a Sony call centre worker are going to have a few words tommorow morning.

Yeah I've had PS+ for almost a year now and it's great. I get a ton of free games, plus DLC, exclusive access to demos and betas, game trials and Qore.

Anyway... I don't know which games I'll get because I already have LBP, inFamous, Wipeout HD, and Quest for Booty.

Same here, but i will pick up Dead Nation, just which of the other 4 to pick...
does anyone know when this 1-month free/discount stuff kicks in?

Probably as soon as the store gets back up...

Well I rang UK PSN customer support and got this...

They said its a problem with hotmail and it can't handle all the requests so its being slow from there end, all I can do is wait for now. Oh and the guy I spoke too said he was having the same issues, Sure! I bet he's changed his password from his little cubicle. Telling me I just can't answer my security question and change it from your end ?

Sony & Microsoft stop being children and sort out this problem between your two networks.

*sigh*

I wish that these little apology freebies were actually things I was interested in.

I'd have been happy with a $20-25 credit that would let me get one or two DLCs for my current games.

Well i was not really expecting anything but i wont say no to Dead nation and R&C QF Booty...oh and that free 30 days PS+.

I already plat'ed infamous and LBP, and i will have to wait till bionic implants become the norm before i get anywhere near plat'ing Wipeout.

Since I don't really play any games on the PS3 and have never spent a red cent on the PS network, this has turned out very nicely for me. I guess the paradox is, the more of a hardcore gamer you are, the more disappointing this is. :techman:

Hotmail has been outed now as the issue to PSN passwords and there is a growing thread in their customer support forums, to which no Hotmail Admin has bothered to come into yet so people are now e-mailing hotmail support myself included.

I was probably a little OTT though I didn't swear or put any abuse towards em, one guy who e-mailed them got his e-mail 10 mins later  I put this to hotmail...

I am one of the Sony PS3 customers, who has been waiting for an e-mail to reset our passwords HOWEVER hotmail account users who linked their e-mails to their PSN accounts are not getting their e-mails. Other e-mail providers are not having this problem and so far no Hotmail/MSN admin has given a reply to this problem anywhere on the internet including in this Hotmail thread

I and many others would like to know what the exact problem is and are you actually doing anything to reslove this issue for millions of your hotmail users. I would hope that just because we have a Sony product a rival to Microsoft's 360 (which I also own) we are not being Persecuted by Microsoft holding back Sony e-mails or just doing nothing to help the issue along.

I look forward to your reply and I aplogise if my tone seems a little unkind but I have been waiting 48 hours almost for this e-mail and I expect more of Microsoft, which until now I never had any issue with my Hotmail account that I am considering closing after this PSN e-mail debacle unless real action is taken.

Thank you for your time.

Thats how we roll in England baby, a stern letter

I would hope the gaming press will begin to report Hotmails short comings more especially with E3 on its way and begin to apply pressure too.

It seems though who have never brought off PSNStore or their account is new-ish so basically Sony cannot confirm the account to your console. Its one of the security features they added so we need go via email.

You would think we could ring up and just answer our security question  and get it done via phone BUT nooooooo.

Ah... I've never bought anything off the network and checking once I had access, I've never registered a credit-card so I guess they don't give a stuff about me.

How long you had your account for? It probably didn't help in my case that I created my account back in 2009 on a friends console and only got my PS3 in April 2011 ;) so it couldn't confirm my console/account together. If I had brought anything off PSN-Store then it would of probably sloved this but PSN went down before I could do this

Sony done their bit for now, this is MSN Hotmails fault at the moment for some reason G-Mail can handle the traffic but they can't. You can't help but think M/S has slown down Sony traffic to their hotmail accounts on purpose or know the problem but don't want to fix it.

I have e-mailed game websites like The Escapist to see if they are planning to run with the story about the hotmail debacle. The gaming press seem a little slow on this especially after hammering Sony over the PSN hack.
